Primetimer 4,991 December 13, 2016 '"I'm, like, a smart person" is a sentence that disproves itself. It's like getting a back tattoo that says "I Make Good Decisions."' View the full article Share this post Link to post
Princess Sparkle 9,686 December 13, 2016 Now that the Vulture behind-the-scenes piece on A Closer Look mentioned that Seth hates "clapture" (people clapping instead of laughing), I'm attuned to him trying to talk over it. I noticed that a few times in this one he talked over them, but at one point I noticed him putting his hands up slightly as if to say "stop; calm down". 1 Share this post Link to post

sinkwriter 8,070 December 13, 2016 I think the problem with the "clapture" is, I struggle to laugh at most of Seth's jokes, because underlying even the awesomely pointed mocking of Trump is yet another reveal of how awful and suspect Trump's behavior is. So I find myself sitting there, shaking my head in frustration, because when you get right down to it, what Trump is doing is very much not funny and I can't believe we have four fucking years of this ahead of us. So when Seth zings Trump in a brilliant way, I'd rather applaud than laugh (or applaud AND laugh). Share this post Link to post
