S09.E06: Hollywood Goes Bollywood

Recommended Posts

The tables turn during the skill drill challenge, as the remaining celebrities become the teachers and direct Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray to make a dish. Then, the celebrities are introduced to the often-intimidating world of Indian cooking in their main dish challenge. The two recruits with the worst Indian dishes go head-to-head in a blind elimination challenge.

I was surprised at how much I didn't want John to leave -- not because John is very likable but because I cared even a little bit about this dumb show.

The food dissection episode is usually enjoyable. I'm not sure I'd be able to taste the difference between green tomatoes and tomatillos either, although I imagine red onion vs white would be ... obvious?

I think this is the best celebrity Worst Cooks so far.  In previous years, I was either indifferent to or actively disliked most of the contestants.  This time around I actually like them all (except for the woman who was first out).  What surprises me the most is how much I like Mike the Situation.  I never saw Jersey Shore but I had the idea that he would be a foul-mouthed low life based upon what I'd heard about the show.  Instead I'm finding him quite pleasant and amusing if not exactly a Rhodes Scholar.  I like John a lot and am glad he wasn't eliminated but I also liked Matt and was sorry to see him go.

Rachael WAY overdoes her raptures during tasting.  It's almost embarrassing to watch.

Well John wasn't in danger of being eliminated because they rotate which eliminated.

Did John make his own barbecue sauce? I don't know which would be more surprising: that Food Network had a bottle of premade barbecue sauce sitting on the shelf, or that one of the Worst Cooks would know how to do that.

I used to watch John on Talk Soup. He's a dork, but I find him amusing.

Count me in as another viewer who isn't bothered by Mike, The Situation, Sorrentino. I was expecting a loudmouth buffoon, even though I never watched Jersey Shore.

Didn't you mean "Talk Soup"?  LOL

Mike's personality doesn't bother me, in fact I thought he was pretty nice on "Dancing with the Stars".  It's his repulsive appearance since bulking himself up as a bodybuilder - He used to look much better, IMHO.  People suspect steroids.

YES! That Autocorrected, and I didn't even notice. Yikes.
