S01.E08: Episode 8

Recommended Posts

So finally, finally, finally, some of these disparate threads are coming together. Which of course just happen to include a case Karl handled 8 years ago. Right. Did anyone think when Karl's wife got sick as soon as she got home from meeting her new (platonic) fella AKA TT that he had poisoned her? Because the timing of that was odd.

Nice to know that French (European?) secret service is as dark and fucked up as ours is.  And why not, they're a lot closer to the trouble spots and have more skin in the game.

yes, but I was left wondering if she drank that coffee ... and also --obviously -- if she was miscarrying .. .Again the possibility of abortion is sidestepped ... an unwanted pregnancy, now twins and the A choice is unmentionable ... does Karl only have the one child with Laura?

Son and Laura should be on red-alert about the possibility of being "used" by TT ... or dark and handsome strangers, but I did like Laura putting son in his place wrt the gutter.

Yeah the timing of her sickness was suspicious and I'm not familiar with anemia and malnourishment causing shooting pains like she had.

Help me out here. So the parking lot guy with the wife is or is not the same guy impersonating Adams gf online?

im also wondering if the prostitute/human trafficking ring and the poisoned girl and her brother are going to tie in or we concluded that thread?

Yes.

Elise's reaction to learning Gael was arrested proves that she actually has an emotional attachment to him, but Gael doesn't see it.

Karl knows.

The audience knows and we are sad for her because she doesn't make attachments easily.

Her jumpsuit makes it easier to match her with stunt persons for production continuity because who is that impossibly skinny other than Elise, herself.

John=Parking Lot Guy=Bouquet of Flowers Guy=Coffee date Guy=Online Becky=Spoiler Alert???

Public service announcement:Don't drink beverages offered by strangers, go get your own fresh beverage from the barista

Especially if you are pregnant, duh.

It doesn't look like the show is going that way, but please gawd don't have Karl and Elise hook up at the end. They have no chemistry except as co-workers and now friends, the age difference is offputting, and Karl himself is an angular, average looking middle aged guy. I've already had to hand wave the presumed sexual magnetism that made the widow what's-her-name throw herself at him, plus his good looking wife, plus his assumed past sexual indiscretions. He ain't all that!

Its funny, I saw Dancing on the Edge last night, right before the Tunnel.  In the former, Pamela said a banned word, and it was both audible and CC.  The times I have seen The Tunnel get bleeped out, it is virtually ONLY when they are speaking French!  The only French cuss word I know is merde, and I think that is a pretty mild one.  Are there lots of well-known (in USA) French profanities that are worse?

maybe it varies by venue ... my PBS station in Colorado distorts/bleeps/blanks lots and lots of words ... it is distracting and annoying and seems to have increased significantly as the show has gone on (which might be impossible depending on where in the process these decisions are made)... whatever their criteria, there is at time a distracting amount of deleted dialog and **** on the closed captions.
