Poor Bash is always getting, well, bashed. Ba-dump, see what I did there. He gets the shit beaten out of him every two episodes.

Prince 16th Century Tourist Brochure made me laugh more than once, especially when he was warming up for the snowball fight.

"Can you heal that, healer?" Stick to killing buddy, not one-liners. Also, after that one line it seems he gave up on using a Scottish accent.

I have to say that this show continues to get better every week in my opinion.

Yes, I think the death of Francis helped the stories a bit. With him around Catherine and Mary had to share power with him but after he died they were more free to openly grab for power.

I do think that they kinda telegraphed that one of Charles' buddies would turn out to be a bad guy. I was happy to see Leith again, I really do like him with Princess Claude. I am trying to figure out if Elizabeth is playing Lola or if her offer was genuine.

I so was rooting for Bash to get a completely anti-climactic death on the beach. Now I suppose his exit will be him wandering off to perform magic across the world.

I'm a little surprised Prince of DENMARK! was not more aware of Elizabeth having a famous temper to make allowance for. I like Lola and Elizabeth but it just makes me think of how generally useless she was to Mary as a Lady. All of the Mary's ladies were out for themselves for the most part, now I look back.

Loved Mary suddenly going all Revenge at the end there. Adelaide Kane plays a good menacing. I just wish she hadn't lost her sword -- it did make for good symbolism to have an empty sheath, but to run a guy through with a sword made by the man he had killed would be just great irony. Mary has killed before and I bet she would be received rather well if she appeared to reclaim her throne drenched in the blood of some dude she killed on her way home.

I kept expecting Catherine to know everything Charles was doing. His little Acne Superteam was hilariously stupid to watch. You know what Catherine should do? She should sit Charles down with the ledgers of the kingdom and not let his whiny ass leave until he gets to understand how damn unpleasant and boring being a reigning monarch can be. And throw in some dealing with difficult people from every walk of life. That should show him.

Or park him on the throne for a week and make him listen to his subjects come in with their differences and have to solve them. And then have to listen to others bitch about life in France right now.

FINALLY Scotland! Or something akin to Scotland. I figured once we had simultaneous scenes in France and England there was no reason to keep Mary trapped in France any longer, and have her move forward.

I loved his "punishment" of Lola by banning her from France! The show has mismanaged the whole LIW since the beginning. Neither Mary nor Elizabeth had much "alone time" historically, and Lola would hardly have gotten past Liz's entourage to make the inroads she has. Same, of course, with Mary herself, who makes solo trips willy nilly without much of an escort. I still say that they could just have our Mary fade into the countryside and live a peaceful life with Bash or whomever while some other character lives out the Queen's fate.

I think I had seen the guy who played Charles' backstabber on another series, and I thought he was probably not going to be a non-entity, and, sure enough, things went South for the kid. I guess getting him back will get Catherine back into everyone's good graces?

I still say they could! After all the liberties they've taken with history, I sure hope they'll find a way to avoid her (and us) the 18 years of custody after the fun stuff and have her flee with Bash under the identity of the chambermaid, leaving some poor schmuck looking for redemption (Lola? then the queen might discover the subterfuge, youhoo!) in her stead.

Well that was fun to let England have the sillier sideplot.  That Prince was ridiculous.  I loved it.  Him beaning Elizabeth on the head with the snowball - TWICE - ha!  And his overdramatic, "I hate to have to do this, but you are BANNED from Denmark."  Lola seemed devastated.  Though too bad she couldn't get any side action in with the cute companion.

I enjoy Mary and Narcisse together.  I like that they don't sugarcoat anything they say to each other.  I was a bit bummed he took off, though who knows how long that will last.

I like Claude and Charles, but honestly, they need to recognize that they need Catherine.  And really, Catherine's scheme with Claude's temporary husband got Claude what she wanted - the ability to choose the man she marries. My bias for Catherine is clear, but they need to get over it.
