ProfCrash June 1, 2016 Share June 1, 2016 Nothing says that they cannot control the amount of alcohol some one is allowed to consume. Bars cut people off of who they think have consumed too much because they can be held liable for serving alcohol to someone who is drunk. They could have cut her off after a certain amount if they were worried that she was drunk or incapacitated. Cambodia has its own laws regarding the consumption of alcohol, they were in Cambodia, Julia should have been able to drink following those rules. Let's be real, many of these shows are filmed outside of the US so that the Production company can follow different labor laws and save themselves some cash as much as they are for the scenery. OK, I'll shut up. It is not my call and she wasn't allowed to drink. I just think it is stupid. Link to comment
Special K June 1, 2016 Share June 1, 2016 ProfCrash, you are right if she was merely traveling there. But she is there under contract with Survivor, and that supercedes all. 1 Link to comment
simplyme June 1, 2016 Share June 1, 2016 We live in a litigious society. The easiest way to keep insurance costs down and also make sure an underage person does not sue them for something stupid is to follow both host country and US laws, so that's what they do. There are court cases in the US where someone gets drunk, falls down their steps, and sues their landlord. So if Survivor opts to cover their asses, I don't blame them. 1 Link to comment
