Lots of other reasons too: cursing and and nudity and misogyny and gore (the operating room scenes leave very little to the imagination), in addition to the racism.  When I would watch it on TV in the past it would be edited to the point that some of it didn't make sense.  

I love TCM too; I should stick a crowbar in my wallet (as Margaret said to Frank once) and subscribe.
