Kat July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 I was curious about this HBO doc. Sounds like it's a good choice for "having on while I wash dishes and make dinner". Link to comment
iggysaurus July 22, 2015 Share July 22, 2015 Anyone watched this yet? I liked a lot of things about it but found the "psychic medium" near the end a bit hard to swallow. Really, she wasn't told ANY facts about Edith before the interview, and she had no way to research her? Yet she knew all these very specific details about her life? I am very skeptical that this is even remotely possible. 1 Link to comment
missy jo July 23, 2015 Share July 23, 2015 Love documentaries (and thank you SO MUCH for reviewing them, Sarah!), but this sounds like a "pass" for me. The institutionalism aspect would be very compelling but even as an art lover, that part of it doesn't sound as interesting. Link to comment
Minnie Finch July 23, 2015 Share July 23, 2015 I really tried...I was an art major eons ago and I'll watch even the driest documentary, so I thought this would be right up my alley. I could just not get past the narrator's strident voice! 1 Link to comment
Morbs July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 For real. I just picked up so many "this woman is completely annoying" vibes from the director I stopped watching before a psychic was involved, so I am glad I spared myself that bullshit. Link to comment
Sarah D. Bunting August 2, 2015 Share August 2, 2015 @missy, you're very welcome! And those of you who skipped/bailed, I can't really argue with you. Link to comment
CherryMalotte August 21, 2015 Share August 21, 2015 It's too bad because I enjoyed the art actually, and the story behind the art, but I didn't much care for the film maker. Link to comment
