But the numbers are close showing that the difference between them isn't that different. They just happened to be at the bottom at this time of vote, so I sent them off with love. I loved how they brought Bobby back this time, but they lose points because he wasn't living the dream with his wife. I also wanted something more...maybe it should have been a little harder for Bobby to escape or get captured again. But I thought this time the reason they brought him back worked and I still love Bobby. Hibbing - I need to see these two gals working a case again. catrox14 June 20, 2015 Share June 20, 2015 My fanwank on why Bobby wasn't with his wife is that his wife maybe didn't want to be with him considering how awful her last night as a human being with him was...and maybe Bobby didn't think he deserved to be with his wife because of the same reasons. My eulogy to Inside Man. I LOVE this episode and might be my favorite of the season or at least tied with Reichenbach.... I loved the idea that Dean had a hangout and was friendly enough with Donnie, the Bartender that Donnie knew what he would order re beer or what have you and that he didn't care that Dean was going to hustle the annoying college boys. And speaking of the college boys I really liked the guy he was playing against with the long hair. I thought he had some real charisma and would watch him again for sure. And Gods fake drunk Dean was just the best thing EVER and the shift when he turns off the charade and goes for the kill re the game was so great. I want an entire episode of Dean and Sam hustling pool, please. I thought the direction of this episode was fantastic and I really hope we get that director again. The pacing of the episode worked well even for having so many different things going on. I thought it was great Sam episode and Sam being badass shooting Metatron in the leg without a second thought was amazing. I do wish he had told Dean he saw Bobby :(. But oh well. "Squirrel". "Boris. Where's Natasha". FINALLY Dean found the perfect comeback for that. The Crowley/Dean conversation in the bar was so good even though I nitpicked the words in "Family don't end in blood" vs "Family don't end with blood". I loved Dean acknowledging that he didn't think he'd ever live as long as he had much less sitting there talking about life with the King of Hell. I loved the actor that played Mannah. He was wonderful and I really felt like that was Hannah. So good. Rowena freaking out Crowley by being naked was gold. Rowena and Dean's scene was creepy and wonderful. I loved Dean's eyes flashing Black for a moment and how I wanted so much for that to be demon!Dean peeking through(not 100% convinced that it wasn't). I am tired of them bringing Bobby back but I thought it worked here for the most part. "The Bobbys are surly!" will never not be funny. I suspect this will end up being an episode I will watch again and again and it will still be great. Just all the love for Inside Man. RIP :( 2 Link to comment

I struggled with Slash Fiction the most because, while I love the episode, I don't remember anything much funny about it except the diner bit. *shrug* I'm not sure if the episodes in your second list are supposed to be light-hearted, funny episodes or if they have a couple of really funny comedic relief moments. I included It's a Terrible Life because it's a "fish out of water"-type episode. I think we're supposed to find it amusing that Sam and Dean are trying to live these button-down, normal lives. I liked this because it did two things: 1) it gave us REAL insight into how Sam's mind is working and 2) it solidified that Dean's 'plan" was just stupid and he needed a new plan. I also agree with Fan Fiction as the top of S10 because it had: life/death(fake)/resurrection(Chuck?)/redemption and most of all family ... all with some snappy tunes you could really tap your toe too. Plus Dean bopping his head to his tragic lifestory and Sam little brother-ing Destiel was kinda perfect. In addition to the leviathan scenes, there was the whole Chet/Bobby exchange, there was Dean singing "All Out of Love" and complaining about not putting Baby in the corner *, and even the whole scene with Dean talking on the phone with Bobby about dissolving bodies and chopping off heads while the policeman listened on in horror while Dean's reaction was "What? This is a totally normal conversation." was funny to me. Or maybe I'm just a sick puppy here ; ) - which is entirely possible. I wouldn't classify it as funny ha-ha, but maybe more dark satiric comedy on the line of "Heathers" or something like that? * And Dean cutting down that My Little Pony thing and its sad little "eeeee" as he threw it in the back seat - that had to be deliberately funny, right? I'm smiling just thinking about it... Okay, okay I need help... Slinking away now. Edited to add: Oh, and I forgot about Frank! How could I forget about Frank? That whole scene where they meet Frank was fun for me, especially when he asked Sam if that was his computer and then smashed it up and gave him a new one... and Sam stared at it, took it, and said "um, thank you?" catrox14 June 21, 2015 Share June 21, 2015 (edited) This is really harder than I expected because there are some of the best intentionally funny moments in the most gutwrenching episodes like "Is he going to send you to outer space " ..."Well he didn't say outer space" or or "Good Luck with the demon blood " " Yeah good luck with killing Death" or funny episodes that get flipped into heavy. For me I'm going with the comedy be it dark (like Mystery Spot or Slash Fiction ) or light or satirical (like French Mistake or Dog Dean Afternoon) being more prevalent in the episode and even if the comedy is driving the drama . It's hard to explain. Now whether the comedy hit the mark is debatable. Despite Sam's somewhat dark arc in that episode, I think I'd include that in the "this is supposed to be comedic" category. And "How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters" because I'm pretty sure that glampers getting munched on, Ranger Rick, Brandon the pissed off waiter, and Dean stoned on Biggerson's turducken was supposed to be funny? (And I thought it was even if the ending was so not funny. At all. So maybe not enough of the episode was comedic?) Probably also "Shut Up, Dr. Phil." Even if I thought that one didn't work, I think it was supposed to be funny? Though I'm fine if you don't include that one also, since I am not sure of the intention of the episode myself. The whole thing was a homage and spoof of Pulp Fiction...I think it was totally intentionally meant to be hilarious. That being said, I don't care if it's included or not, just saying. Folsolm Prison Blues, IMO, was a total goof on how almost every procedural show has tried to sneak their leads into prison for one episode and then sneak them back out in the end...again, I think it was totally intentionally meant to be goofy and funny. That being said, I don't care if it's included, just saying. Same goes for the Usual Suspects...homage to the movie and I think it was meant to be funny and silly that Sam and Dean got caught, spilled the beans and escaped anyway. That being said, I don't care if it's included either. Personally, I believe the show intends for most of it's episodes to be dark humor and funny...well, before Carver took over anyway. What do you think about "How to Win Friends...?" I was a little slow with my editing above there on that - got distracted before hitting "save edits" - sorry. First, S7 WAS Black Comedy... like, as it's premise so ITA, we have a higher percentage there. And you're right about "How to Win Friends". Between the Glampers, the Turducken, and stoned Dean... it was intentionally funny (of course until it wasn't and they SHOT BOBBY...but that's okay, they meant the rest of it to be funny). So... adding that to the list. How about we give until 9pm EDT to see if we missed anything else? At that point we'll call the list (as stated above WITH "How to Win Friends" added) done enough. Kevin Tran (he's in AP) freaking out all over the place? Megaton vs Metatron? The entire episode is written to be hilarious -- and it is, IMO -- in the middle of all the heavy. I was trying to keep the list fairly manageable. But now that I think about it, comedy is so subjective, why should we exclude any episode that people find funny? 1 Link to comment
