@NathanFillion and @MollyQuinn93 are so great together in tonight's episode. Can't wait to watch it with you guys! #Castle #InPlaneSight

 

This is Dara's first solo effort, tough one to write with Castle and Beckett separated for presumably a large portion of the episode.  Didn't rate her hubby's efforts all much, it'll be interesting to see if she can make this work.

I wish Castle could wear something more... inspiring if he's going to be wearing the same thing for the whole episode.  But the same boring old plaid shirt is what Luke chose. Nothing new there. ;)  At least they remembered to put Castle in first class even if he doesn't exactly dress like a millionaire.  And yes, I'm aware many millionaires in fact prefer dressing down.  But there's stylish/well-made and understated, and there's old and boring, and this is TV.

 

Nice to see a woman pilot.  Too bad there aren't more of those in real life on commercial airlines.

I've travelled quite a bit internationally over the last 25 years and we only had a woman pilot once in all that time and it was such a surprise you could here the murmurs down the cabin when she did the usual intro. On the much smaller planes I've seen a few more but on the big jets seems very rare. It continues to be a very much male dominated environment in the cockpit even in this day and age.

That's lovely news, congrats to Stana and Kris. Wonder if her brother performed the ceremony. Isn't one of them an orthodox priest? Also wonder if we'll get to see the dress? Her Twitter & Instagram radio silence makes more sense now.

It's very rare that an actress changes her name once she marries if just because an actress is already known by the name used before marriage. But who knows? She can remain Stana Katic professionally, hyphenate both names, or use her new last name. (And I thank a response elsewhere stating the last name is pronounced Berkleeach.)

Oh well they'll get over it...or may be not. *sigh* 

 

Life goes on. Something new will pop up to devote themselves to. I just hope the...most devoted, shall we say...will leave SK alone (NF, too, but he isn't the one who just tied the knot!).

Anyone seen any pictures of SK's wedding dress? Hope it was as nice as 'Joanna Beckett's' one from the second wedding.

 

The only photo I saw released was a picture of their hands with their new wedding rings. Nothing else.

I doubt we will see anything more, she seems a very private person, how many fans knew much about this Kris guy? Even her most ardent supporters didn't seem that well informed, he seemed to keep in the background so I would assume there's going to be no further pictures. If there had been tumblr would be awash with them by this stage and yeah I've already checked heh. It's kind of nice to have a celebrity wanting to keep their big day private and not it have splashed over a magazine or twitter etc. I thought the picture of their rings was a nice touch. Simple and effective.

I'm actually really surprised that she managed to pull off a wedding without anyone (in the media) knowing, but I'm really glad for her, considering she's been really private about her personal life forever. There's a tumblr post somewhere where they literally list everything they could find out about the guy and their relationship and honestly, it's pretty creepy. But apparently they've been together forever and he was even listed (as a SO to her) in grandmother's obituary. (I might be able to find it, but I don't know how comfortable I'll be linking it.) It's doubtful that we'll ever see anything other than the photo her publicist released of their rings unless she personally posts something.

 

I don't think this makes Castle babies any more likely ... and really, wasn't the complaint about that storyline that just because a woman gets married doesn't necessarily mean babies are right around the corner? (It just seems like that's a little ... pot meet kettle in this case.)

 

I also don't think this really says anything about her media radio silence because she usually tends to disappear after filming ends for the summer. But it does kinda put her (maybe) reluctance at re-signing in persepective. Getting married is a big deal and a big change (though maybe not if they've been practically married anyway) and I could see her thinking that maybe change is good. Or maybe even that she was too busy planning a wedding to be really into contract negotiations.

 

Speaking of, if she ran off to get married what does that say about contract negotiations? The Yahoo article made it sound like she got married in Croatia. Would her agent be faxing her? Email? Of do they just sit around until she decides to come back to LA? Even if she wasn't off getting married, she always used to go traveling. I think she spent one summer in India and one summer in Mongolia, didn't she?

She's just turned 37 so if children are on the agenda I would imagine she would be at that stage of at least seriously thinking about it, for many it's still a natural progression - marriage then having a family. Emily on Bones got married and then had a baby not long afterwards which caused them to force the issue over them getting together on screen. 

 

I remember Stana went to India a few years ago, she always seems to go away to far off places as soon as Castle is over with, I don't blame her.  As for her contract, surely her agent can keep her informed of what's going on and act on her behalf if necessary, may be it's already been sorted out and it's just a case of making an announcement at a later stage.

Eh, I'm not. It's been pretty consistently reported she got married overseas. And, while WE all know who she is, she's not Jennifer Aniston. I don't say that to degrade her, but she's just not as famous as other actresses who are engaged/may pull off a surprise wedding. 

 

To be honest, I'm surprised she put out any info about it right away. She is so private and if she got married overseas, I doubt many would've found out here in the US for awhile anyway. Maybe they were afraid the Croatian media would find out and leak it? Perhaps she's their Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Well yes. And if she wants kids, then great. (But there's also nothing to say she couldn't have had them before she was married.)

 

It just seems a little hypocritical to say that now she's married in real life she might actually get pregnant so that might factor into a baby storyline on the show. Especially because one of the biggest arguments against a Castle/Beckett baby storyline is that just because a woman is married doesn't mean she has to have kids and having a baby does not make a woman fulfilled and a career can be just a good as having a family ... even though we have story evidence that Beckett is open to kids and a family and we don't know anything about Stana's her personal ideals or her personal goals.

 

I've seen a  clip. The stewardess says something to the effect of 'The air marshal is dead. You are the closest thing to law enforcement on the plane.'  I have a high acceptance level for silliness (my favourite authors are PG Wodehouse, Terry Pratchett and Christopher Moore) but come on!

 

To be fair, he does respond with "which in itself is cause for concern", so it's not like they're trying to advocate that he could actually be seen a a police officer.

Guess I was completely wrong in my certainty it was a delayed wedding celebration. And I'm more than a little disappointed about it too. This feels...too little too late to me to recognize Castle as a writer (how often do they even remember he's a writer lately?). Oh well, what else is new?

I think it'll just be nice to get a new scene in an episode. Anything that gets them out of the precinct and especially out of the interrogation room. Bonus points for getting them dressed up.

 

I think it's a little too late to be celebrating their wedding, by mmv I guess.

I don't know the inner workings of her mind either, it was just a thought, apologies if I've upset any one with Stana baby ramblings. I'll stop now.

 

I do love the way she's looking so adoringly at him (has to be Castle). Stana really can work those loving looks at her man, she looks touched by whatever he's saying. I do hope it's about her. MilMar you had better not screw this up at the last minute by throwing a spanner in the works.

I am curious about the pictures of Beckett being questioned in those other shots.  It doesn't seem to fit into the politics speculation.  Do people get questioned like that as part of advancement within the NYPD?

Maybe getting questioned as part of the Captain's interview? Either that or City Hall. Hehe.

 

But I do know that scene was the same day as the swings set scene in the scheme of things since she's wearing the same outfit.

I don't mean to single you out. It was more a general comment about the double standard. For the record, I'm all for Castle and Beckett having babies. Stana too, if she wants them.

 

The EW article mentions she's had a big year filming Castle and the movie The Tourist ... isn't the movie the one she filmed last hiatus? Not really something recent, even if it hasn't be released yet.

 

I also had to laugh about the comparison to Nina Dobrev and Patrick Dempsey in terms of voluntarily leaving a hit show. While I don't think that's the case here (I still think she'll be back), I did have to chuckle-cringe at the sore spot EW was trying to hit.

Well if they bring anything up about Bracken or the amount of times she quit, I could see that peeving her off. Or bringing up a future career in politics since she has a habit of snapping in relation to that.

Well her rep's job is to remind folks of what she has "new" coming, even if it was filmed awhile ago. lol Especially if there's no upcoming project she's working on during this hiatus they can tout on her behalf yet.

<Shakes head> Would it be nice if NF does so? Of course. But if he doesn't, I think some have to accept that these two MAY NOT (emphasized as I know jack about their feelings) be close and to just be happy others wish her well and leave it there.

 

But that would be too easy.

Yeah, she filmed The Tourist last summer.  But I guess that's less than a year ago, so it sort of counts?

 

They also took her quote about how it can be good to leave a show when it's still on top a bit out of context.

I feel like there's probably not going to be any wedding congrats in public. Maybe a statement - ("we're really happy she's happy"/"we're happy for her") - but nothing directed to her. I'm sure they wished her well before they left for the summer. They know she's not really one to publicize her private life and I imagine they'll respect that, especially if she doesn't say anything about it herself and just lets her publicist do the announcing.

 

Which is fine. I don't think people should read into that. Not everything needs to be on Twitter. That doesn't mean that there's an ulterior motive and I think a lot of the fans forget that.

I like Seamus Dever and the rest, but at this point, this just seems like trolling the fans and kind of cruel, even if some are over-invested.

 

It's passive aggressive. I say they all should just wait for the ABC upfronts and remain silent until the status is known and stop the teasing. It makes me lose respect for all who do it.

Well, to put a good spin on it, he might just mean the Andrew/Terri era, but I agree, they should have some clue as to how their vague comments will affect the fandom, and be kind enough to proceed accordingly, especially given how much they all purport to adore their fans.

Yeah, it's kind of annoying, because there's no way they are clueless about the impact it has on fans.  He must read the comments on his Instagram, right?

That Seamus picture has caused all sorts of wailing and gnashing of teeth on twitter and tumblr. I agree with those that find it annoying when they have to know what kind of impact it must have on the fans. It feels like trolling at this stage which I certainly don't want to believe they're doing because it's not funny to wind up the fans in this way when so many continue to be deeply invested in the show. There is just no need for it, you can still promote the finale without this.

There is no problem with the legality of a signed faxed document.

 

Actually, one problem we had when I was working with the Canadian government was persuading people to sign with blue ink. With blue ink a colour fax or a colour email would show that an original existed and what was sent was not a copy. Mostly PR for letters from the Minister, but there were some legal questions in there too.

Of course, most of the Minister's letters were actually auto-penned, and written by someone else.(Me, for example.)

I'm going to go with the end of the Marlowe era, especially given that he and Terri were there.

 

Everyone's basically said that Castle is likely continue with or without Stana (for better or worse, I vote for worse), but either she made a decision before she left to get married or she got married and then called Seamus to break the bad news, and I think both those scenarios are unlikely.

 

But please, no more bad entertainment news. I can't take it it. Two weeks ago Jonathan Crombie died, last week Shonda killed Derek Shepherd. I don't know if I can deal if Castle is cancelled on top of that. (Oh wow, that sounds so sad. I have a life, I swear.)

Oh, I know. Well, except for the idea that no one really uses faxes anymore. ... except for doctors. Mostly I was just wondering if they'd take a negotiation break for a (mini)honeymoon.
