I had to throw major shade when FI Tom claimed that John was a "model scout." All I could think of was that the only thing he scouted was young "talent" for much older gay men.

Pretty much defines the casting couch scenario.

 

Meh, I don't think it was only coke that made Jason that way. He's sleazy and ruthless, so I think he would do whatever it took to get him what he wanted. If that meant being gay for pay he'd do it cos he would rationalize it as a way to get ahead. And I guess (for awhile) it worked out for him. Too bad no one told him the 80's are over so maybe it's time to put the 'roids and coke away. He wouldn't want to actually appear his age, now would he???

It also explains why he stuck with Stassi for so long. He probably viewed her (and her father by association) as a living ATM. All he had to do was the bare minimum of bartending at SUR and the occasional modeling gig to barely contribute. He would have totally played house with her as long as she had tolerated all his stupid shit. But Stassi could have been any girl.

I couldn't help but notice on rewatch that James DJ Muppet wasn't very good at hiding his glee while trying to surreptitiously text Kristen the dirt on FI Tom he thought he was hearing.
