Snazzy Daisy May 9 Author Share May 9 I like the premise of the COTW, but the execution is clunky. There’s not enough profiling, just a lot of expositions to make up for it. I also like seeing Luke and Tyler working together. It’s weird that Tyler has to work his way into the BAU because of some FBI guidelines. Where are the guidelines to indicate that Rossi should retire a long time ago? The indoor scenes are still dark, no improvement whatsoever. This fascination with Voit has got to stop. He is NOT the greatest villain, and he will never be. His stupid arc keeps Rossi and Prentiss away from the rest of the team. The theory that Franklin Fowler has his own “Sicarius” network feels repetitive. Are the writers running out of ideas? Why are they so stuck with the serial killer network? And now Penelope Garcia can read aura too? Is she a Voit Whisperer now? FFS. 🙄 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153372-s18e01-swimmer%E2%80%99s-calculus/#findComment-8657193
GiandujaPie May 9 Share May 9 So is Tyler no longer on the show or will they find some way to keep him at the BAU? L&O Organized Crime was also doing a serial killer network storyline. Is there something comparable IRL that is inspiring these storylines? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153372-s18e01-swimmer%E2%80%99s-calculus/#findComment-8657289

I agree on him and Luke working togetehr that @Snazzy Daisy noted. I'm neutral on Volt as a character, but yeah, I agree that they should probably move on from it at some point soon. Also, everything with the case of the week against the advisory/phone number at the beginning and end of the episode just made it all that much more unsettling. Now that he's the central character yet again, I'm done. I think Garcia almost fan-girling over his (not really) comatose body was the final nail in the coffin for me. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153372-s18e01-swimmer%E2%80%99s-calculus/#findComment-8666956
catherinejane Friday at 09:14 AM Share Friday at 09:14 AM Just watched it in the UK (disney) and this episode actually seemed far LESS DARK than the previous seasons which were unwatchable at times. So something has changed technically, thankfully! Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153372-s18e01-swimmer%E2%80%99s-calculus/#findComment-8674509
LadyMustang65 Saturday at 04:44 PM Share Saturday at 04:44 PM For the love of all that's holy, would someone please give this show a budget for lighting? Even when they're outside in broad daylight, it's never bright and barely even light. And indoor scenes have me screaming "would someone please turn on the damn lights?" Even in headquarters, it's like they're on an austerity budget and have to keep the lights turned off. I don't know if they think it helps with the mood or what, but it doesn't. It's just so damn annoying. Character expressions and little gestures used to add so much to the show, but now you couldn't see them if you tried. How many seasons did they manage to successfully complete with viewers actually being able to see wtf was happening? Gah! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153372-s18e01-swimmer%E2%80%99s-calculus/#findComment-8675437
