I don't think it will be an issue unless High Potential gets canceled. Nigel hasn't been on the show very often.

It could come up as a subplot.  Deniz Akdeniz wouldn't even need to be there.  Since the mansion inhabitants know how Chris disappeared, and we don't know if they know Isaac lied about it to Nigel (Isaac being Isaac, it might never have occurred to him to fill them in on that), it's possible that one of them at some point would make a casual remark about Chris's leaving (it could even be Jay, not knowing that Nigel was in the room), which would result in Nigel storming off to demand an explanation from Isaac.  If something like that does happen, though, I imagine it will be in a future season. I'd guess that the writers, having created this deception, would want to capitalize on it somewhere down the road.

So I apologize for raining on the picnic.

No need to apologize.  It wasn't my favorite episode.  I generally don't like shows where there are misunderstandings like this.  I especially dislike seeing Sam & Jay looking like idiots.  There were a few good lines, but overall, I didn't care for it.

Yes. My second-hand embarrassment made me turn off the episode for a couple of hours before I could stand to come back to it.

Jenkins is so random that I could not for the life of me remember who he is.  I had to look it up.

I was thinking he was Hetty's butler and forgot he was one of the civil war guys. So he's the one who used to date Nigel and gave him the lap dance, but is he the same one who is with Carol now, or is that the other guy?

Chris has appeared on four episodes now. That's as many as Stephanie. And these last two were shot either during or after production on High Potential. So that show didn't keep the actor from appearing on Ghosts. I assume he will pop up again at some point because they left the door open for that and Isaac is still bringing him up.

Carol married the other guy - Baxter, the piper.

If word gets back to Nigel that Chris did not get "sucked off" in the usual ghost sense of the term, my first expectation would be Isaac responding with not-Oscar-winning fake incredulity to Nigel: "[Gasp] He didn't??!!??? But I saw him rise up to the clouds!!"

High Potential only had thirteen episodes in its first season. We don't know when High Potential will start work on season two and how many episodes there will be. If both shows are taping at the same time his loyalty is to the show that employs him full time. Stephanie was meant to be a recurring character.

Yes he may or may not be available if they want him back, but my point is that he is not contractually prevented from appearing on another show, clearly. It's even on another network. And Ghosts could work around his schedule if they want to. Other actors have appeared on two shows at once, it's not unheard of.

So is Chris, apparently.

Jay was totally right at the start, they don't have to put the ghosts many weird requests over what they need every single time, its not fair to them. This is especially egregious considering they have no proof at all that what Stephanie said was true, and Stephanie is a known lying manipulative mean girl. Are they really that surprised this is how this played out? Its rough watching Sam and Jay look stupid and end up screwed over because of ghost hijinks over and over.

Stephanie is fun in small doses, and it was sweet that Tad and her friend bonded over losing her and named their daughter after her, but she is just so insufferable. I would like to think that this might help her stop being such a mean girl, that does not seem likely.

Sam, you have to know that your prom night baguette story isn't as bad as a chainsaw murder, you have to know that.

They guy who played Tad as an adult was also on Weeds, which is appropriate for a 4/20 themed episode. I see what you did, show.

Yeah, when you're being so obtuse you need Hetty of all people to rein you in, you have taken a wrong turn.  So much of the time she looks stupid because of something the ghosts have done, but in this instance she was just stupid unprompted and a ghost saved her before it got even worse.

I thought it was funny how badly Hetty and Isaac wanted her approval though. So high school.

This was such a fun episode! Well, except for the Pete/ Alberta part which, ugh...

They even managed to make me not hate teenage brat ghost, but actually feel sympathy for her.

Other than that, I gues I'm now looking forward to Sass-less eps, simply because they can't stop with the "omg he's still a virgin! Is he still a virgin?!" jokes...

Btw, is this show produced by the people who make Elsbeth? They had the same title this week  (except it was 33 instead of 37 years).

I thought the remark about Jenkins being "random" called back (in a way) to Jay's remark about Stephanie not even being one of the main ghosts.  Just a bit of meta commentary.  Hetty was stoned, and for whatever reason Jenkins popped into her head, just as the "not main" ghosts show up randomly once in a while.

I agree.

Technically, the ghosts shouldn't really be able to smell, either.  Smelling involves airborne molecules being absorbed and processed by your olafactory nerve.  Getting high involves airborne molecules being absorbed into your blood.  If ghosts can smell, then they can get high from "smoking" because it's basically the same process.  At least within the rules of this show.

I guess I'm trying to wrap my head around how a ghost could get high. I mean yeah they can smell but smelling pot doesn't get you high. You have to absorb it into your bloodstream and ghosts don't have those.

In Anne Rice's novels, since vampires don't have beating hearts pumping blood to peripheral parts of the body, conventional sex can't happen (until she came up with a specific work-around.) Ghosts should have the same issues.

At any rate, I don't see how Jenkins is more random than anyone else around there, but I realize you're not always going to make sense when you're stoned.

I think it's a meta-joke because he's rarely on the show, but also within the world of the show, the main ghosts rarely see him.  Crash would also be "random".  As would Baxter.  Not Nancy and the cholera ghosts though because they show up from time, although they have a "good" reason to stay in the cellar (their worship of the water heater), and not Stephanie, because Hetty knows why she rarely appears. But why would Jenkins prefer to stay in the small shed and not interact with the others more?  Because he's an introvert?

He's more than a bit odd and rather creepy as well, so I suspect the mansion ghosts are relieved he keeps his distance.  Remember, he thought watching Charleston burn was an amusing story for a bachelor party.  He's not exactly a people person and I think that, unlike Nigel, he's never really ceased viewing the Americans as the enemy, so he probably prefers being in the shed most of the time.
