The ending annoyed the heck out of me.  She's a grown-a woman, does not need men running interference with an informant.  She's not a weak person nor a rookie.  At least she stopped saying 'we'll bring your babies home' all the time and switched to 'we'll do everything we can'.

Scott Caan is the weakest link, the man cannot act. He can only play one type no matter what show he is on.

This is my first entry into this show, having missed the first two seasons completely.  And now the third season, maybe.  15 minutes in and I was saying "They want to rescue these nincompoop girls, why again?"

The beginning did give me a flashback of sorts.  I attended Humboldt State University up in Arcata, CA, in the late 70s-early 80s.  A place known for its damp weather and fog on the bay.  They had a pretty good rowing crew, and they would practice daily at dawn. Unknown to them one day, an old guy got exceedingly drunk and walked off the pier the night before, with the predictable result.  So, our heroes are slammin' it hard across the bay and, crash, right into his body.  Kind of ruined their practice for the day

This was...OK (which is how I tend to see this series in general). With the scenes at the very end, is that suggesting that there might be more of this Irish mob storyline in the future?

It certainly explains what happened that the Missing Persons Unit doesn't know about, and reminds us that Daddy/Informant is not the nice guy who's purified his heart that he wants them to think he is. He may or may not be leaving the life he led, but he definitely wants the team to think he did, because if he's not an informant, they are not going to be protecting him or looking the other way or in any way anything but trouble for him, I'd imagine.
