Rai Monday at 03:10 PM Share Monday at 03:10 PM This is my first time with the Traitors overall, so I really enjoyed it. Part of me wishes unknowns still played it because the money would be life-changing for them, and ya know, wtf does someone like Ivar care about 50k? But shafting regular folks out of money so that celebrities can triumph would make me feel pretty icky, so I'm glad that format was phased out. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8603305
Absurda Monday at 09:01 PM Share Monday at 09:01 PM I really liked this season, too. I don't watch any of the reality shows they cast from except RuPauls's Drag Race, so all of these people might as well be "regular" people to me. I have no idea who any of them (other than the drag queens) are. I'm just here for the drama. Earlier in the season I was getting really frustrated with how many game players there were and the focus on that. It really seemed to make the show drag. Especially with all the immunity badges and how people were more interested in those than the actual challenge. But things got better once those were done away with in my opinion. I loved this ending with everyone trusting each other and splitting the pot. So much better than last season. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8603538

Funny you said that because I just saw on Reddit what the winners did with their money. Ivar gave it to one of his children. He paid for his other two's college tuition but one of his children didn't go to college so he gave her the money. I though that was really nice. Dylan used it to move out of his studio and into a bigger apartment. Dolores split it between her son and an animal shelter. Apparently her son is getting married so I guess it'll go towards that and her daughter is a vet so maybe Dolores donated to the animal shelter in her name or something. Gabby spent some on her wedding that only cost like $700. I don’t watch any Housewives shows or the Challenge, so about 1/2-3/4 of the contestants are always unknown to me. But they’re still known to each other, either from actual experience or by reputation, so that automatically removes a lot of the gameplay. I like the element of sizing each other up based only on what they see, not because of preconceived ideas. I also think the “celebrity” players (in quotes, because come on) are more concerned with self-image and afraid of offending their cast mates than the average unknown would be, so that can make gameplay a little tame. But apparently Peacock is able to rope in more viewers by casting familiar faces, so if we want true “regular” people we’ll have to watch other countries’ versions. At least Peacock lets us see those, too. This already exists. It’s called The Mole. (Another show that was killed by casting C-list celebs and never really recovered, even after they went back to casting Normals.) Or it was. Is that still on? 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8603627
Ilovepie Monday at 11:00 PM Share Monday at 11:00 PM Like many, I too wish that the show just had unknown non-reality tv people. I think it takes away from the gameplay a little when people come in with known personalities. When nobody knows any of the other contestants it creates a different vibe. These people come in with histories with each other and pre-formed cliques. It diminishes the idea of the game when one group is just targeting someone because they belong to the "Housewives" or "Gamers". Overall, I usually find myself rooting for the traitors, but these traitors were so terrible I wasn't - I was happy the Faithfuls won. I wish there was a way for a single faithful to win, but there really isn't as far as I can see. I think Gabby and Dylan played pretty good games. Dolores and Ivar were just there, but I feel like there is always one or two that coast under the radar to the end, they just usually don't win. This ending may be nicer, but it's definitely more boring and less memorable. I thought all of the challenges were great this season, but when the best you can say is at least Danielle didn't win, it's not a great season. I still love this show and of course I'll keep watching, but I enjoy the British version more. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8603628

I was waiting for someone to point that out. I loved the original Mole, even the first celebrity season (not the second one, though). Netflix picked it up a couple of years ago and there have been two seasons so far. It was renewed for a third season. I don't enjoy the new version due to the abundance of social media and actor wannabes, even though they are "regular people". I do watch a fair amount of competitive reality shows, as well as, all of the Traitor versions. This season did not rank high overall for me. I would like to see some other incentives to build the money in the pot (maybe they should have them win instagram followers instead of money - ha ha!), so that people will focus on completing the missions, rather than focusing on winning a shield. I liked the shield concept when it was introduced and used sparingly, but now, half of the contestants or more may be exempt. It takes away from the show. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8603677

Does anyone know why they don't seem to be putting that particular version on Peacock? 12 hours ago, wenhiku said: I liked the shield concept when it was introduced and used sparingly, but now, half of the contestants or more may be exempt. DEL901 23 hours ago Share 23 hours ago I’m one of those people who like the reality stars version. And I know some people prefer the regular folks. But I think we can all agree to no more mixed seasons. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152245-s03e11-the-day-of-reckoning-is-upon-us/page/2/#findComment-8604151
