AntFTW February 11 Share February 11 Quote The fate of the remaining nine players rests with their peers, but allegations of cheating spark chaos and lead to an explosive game of Deal or No Deal in the Temple. Thalia February 12 Share February 12 Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention (goes without saying) but I couldn't understand why Lete was so upset that CK drew her name on purpose. It isn't like Lete wasn't going to have to go at some point, so I'm not sure why going at that particular moment would have hurt her. I guess it potentially could have helped Lete, because it would insure the availability of cases on every level. I guess the same arguments, pro and con, apply to CK's reasons for wanting Lete to go next. If Pavarti truly had no idea that others hadn't noticed the family alliance then she isn't as sharp as she's suppose to be. Also, I wish there had been a confessional where she shared her reasoning behind raising Phillip's bullying in connection with Dr. Will. Was that a thought out strategy? Was she truly being empathetic? If so, it was also a convenient way to push Phillip away from Dr. Will and toward "Mom." I wish last night had been an extended episode -- I wanted another 30 minutes watching the fallout from CK's revelations at tribal. I suspect CK will lose to the banker when the show comes back as both the producers and the audience know the next episode would be more dramatic/interesting if she stuck around. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8578865

My guess is that Lete was already upset with CK, and purposefully drawing Lete's name might have looked like she was trying to put Lete on the spot right then and there so that Lete can do her jump and expose what "side" she's on. 2 hours ago, Thalia said: I wish last night had been an extended episode -- I wanted another 30 minutes watching the fallout from CK's revelations at tribal. I would have rather them not leave a cliffhanger. Watching CK destroy what little game she had left was fun. Was she trying to gain some favor with Parvati and David? Also, I didn't get why Phil was so upset at the temple. That went right over my head. Why was he so upset? 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8578997

Based on Lete’s comments and my reading of the reactions to CK’s move, I think Lete didn’t want to be branded as a co-conspirator. People were pissed off that CK had cheated. If Lete hadn’t quickly distanced herself from that, the others might have thought she sanctioned the cheating, or worse was in on it. In a game of social strategy, nobody wants to be labeled as a dirty lowlife cheater. That’s just as bad as being labeled an asshole (aka a Dr. Will). 17 hours ago, AntFTW said: I didn't get why Phil was so upset at the temple. That went right over my head. Why was he so upset? Is that the part where Philip got mad at Parvati for “weaponizing” his history of being bullied? On the surface, she was warning him against trusting Will by reminding him that Will is just like the guys who used to bully him. But Philip only saw Parvati using his personal trauma in a selfish attempt to draw him closer to her. Of course she was trying to manipulate him because that’s what she does, but I don’t think she was being quite so callous as he described. She focuses on game, but that doesn’t mean she’s without empathy. Phillip was also mad because he told her about the bullying “in confidence”, but that part puzzled me because she wasn’t sharing his story with anyone else. I also assume she thought it was safe to mention, since he’s the one who chose to share it. Besides, he knows there’s no such thing as “confidential” when cameras are around, right? I think he overreacted. It’s what happens when people can’t set their emotional baggage aside and play with their head, not their feelings. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8580036

I was so irritated that they cut it off without showing who was leaving! Boo! I am fine with CK going, but then again, I would be fine with any of the at-risk people going. This group is so unlikeable! I cannot stand Seychelle. Unpleasant and humorless. And zero athletic ability. I did enjoy watching her flail off the end of that platform as she jumped straight down like a lump of lead. Do people honestly not know who David is at this point? He and Parvati are playing a terrible game. The whole "fam" is so stupid - flaunting your alliance in front of everyone else is not a good strategy. You just alienate everyone who isn't in your clique. How can they not see that if they are such great game players? There is less of them than everyone else, and unless they end up with top cases, they are going to get picked off one by one. If CK beats the banker, I am certain Dickson is toast. I really like Lete. She seems actually nice and she is playing a good game. I hope she wins. As Rob said in the after show, the best place to be is in the middle, and Lete is doing that right now. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8580086

That outburst sounded like something he practiced in front of the mirror a few too many times, like he was trying to create a moment for himself. The group has a whole lot of unlikable people, very hard to find someone to root for, but it has gotten much more interesting as it's gone along. David seems like a pretty good player, but I wonder if his relationship to Parvati is going to sink him in the end. He seems like a likable guy and capable of inspiring loyalty from the others, but the connection to Parvati seems like a big target. Also, for a married guy, the physical touching seems a bit much between those two. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8582299
LakeGal February 16 Share February 16 I hate the to be continued we get instead of the result at temple. We watch reality shows to see the result at the end. We want to know who is leaving in this episode. When they make us wait we forget and it takes us out of the show. I did enjoy when Will asked David if he was ever on Australian Survivor. David thought he was safe with only Parvati knowing his history. Now Will has him nervous. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8582373

I don't really think that would make much of a difference to me if I were his wife. In one of the pics posted in the media thread, she's got her arms wrapped around his neck and he's got his hands on her hips, there's really just no reason for the two of them to be cuddled up that way, people can be friends/alliance mates and still hold a conversation sitting in their own chairs. Especially when there are cameras there and this will be broadcast for the wife/kids, families, friends to see, it's just not a great look. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151825-s02e06-deal-or-no-deal-island-power-grab/#findComment-8583676
