I looked it up! It's mostly an average lifespan 'cause a lot of them die from injuries/accidents.

And when they injured themselves, they don't always get the treatment they need because they don't realize the severity of their injuries.  Also, because they don't feel the pain, they don't fear it, and might be more reckless.  I think one of the goals with this kid was to get him to feel the pain, even if only in their controlled situations, so he could later assess what the probable pain would be and either avoid those situations or get proper treatment after.

I generally liked this ep. And I like this show better than The Irrational.

I was really impressed with how Katie worked with Finn. The actor playing Finn was very good. I wondered if he really had autism, but I don't think he does.

I'm not sure, but I would think that if Katie was taking prednisone for so long she would have a puffy face.

I don't like Dana. For one thing, she seems to be screwing up a lot. And I don't like her attitude or demeanor. I suppose now we're going to see her in a relationship with Katie.

Boy, that whole storyline with Alison is so upsetting. It was good of Carol to race to her apartment after getting the note that she probably tried to kill herself, but I wish Carol hadn't. She's a better person than I.

I don’t remember if they mentioned Dana being a lesbian before this episode, but all throughout I kept thinking that she and Katie had really natural chemistry, so I’m glad there’s an actual chance there. I also really liked Katie, the actress played her with an organic balance of grit and heart and I wouldn’t mind seeing her pop up again, even if she and Dana don’t end up being a thing.

The Carol plot though, yikes. Things have taken a very melodramatic turn and I wonder how they writers are going to write themselves out of it. It’s infuriating that she’s even in this position because of her terrible husband. And the fact that he acts like his affair is something minor she needs to get over, is so foul. He’s not only a cheat but he’s pathetic about it and I’m over it. Need the show to fast track their end asap. It’s a lot, but I liked seeing Wolf be there for her. It always seems like Carol’s the one dispensing advice so this moment, and the glimpse into their younger years, was nice. The casting for Carol was also really accurate, as was the acting. All the acting is mostly solid on this show, even when the writing is a bit clunky.

I know it isn’t a ratings giant but it’s such an easy, calming watch and I really hope it gets at a second season.
