Do something original! It was the third threesome scenario with the initial kissing and grinding that I have seen this TV season, but the first with lead characters who the audience are supposed to like and come back to watch more episodes. I guess the shock would be like the shock I had when a lead character was raped who had to come back and deal with or ignore the effects in following episodes and not a one off that I first saw back in the 70s. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150476-s01e06-i-always-cry-at-weddings/page/2/#findComment-8505309

Sorry, but that’s what I think of 3-somes and so on. I am SO FREAKING MAD! 😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤯😡🤯😤😤😤😤😤😤 I am not a fan of threesomes. You do you and consenting adults and all that but it just seems gross to me. Part of my dislike is because I was working at a theater and one guy, whose wife had suggested one with another woman with whom she shared a dressing room, enjoyed it a little too much and started pressuring every woman at that theater to have one with him and his wife. Broadly hinting and innuendo-laden conversation. He was disgusting. Other than that, my biggest problem with this episode is when Avery exclaimed "They gave you this room?" [paraphrasing]. It's called a cabin onboard a ship, not a room. I only did one measly nine-month contract and I never would've made that mistake. 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150476-s01e06-i-always-cry-at-weddings/page/2/#findComment-8507962
highway61 November 18, 2024 Share November 18, 2024 You knew that guy was doomed when they kept telling him, "No one's gonna die." Hey, Don Johnson, next time spring for the expensive overboard detection system! I didn't particularly know Margo Martindale, except from, you know, everywhere, but her last scene was really kinda powerful. She may in fact be too good for 'Doctor Odyssey.' I figured the doctor would douse out the threesome when he said he'd 'checked that box already,' but no. Or when it got started, that he'd joke he be the one watching again. But nope. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150476-s01e06-i-always-cry-at-weddings/page/2/#findComment-8510887
Dirge November 19, 2024 Share November 19, 2024 (edited) I'm kind of over this show and I just watch it on my DVR when there's nothing else, but the juxtaposition of the three-way and the help line message was a lot for me to take in. I feel like I *may* have been okay if they played it as "live now, you never know when you'll be gone" instead of bucket lists. But probably not. I did wonder when they were going to get Philippa to sing. eta: I forgot that I had been kind of thinking that Eric might not have committed suicide, because I thought the dinner scene was their wedding reception and we were flashing back. So maybe I'm dumb enough to enjoy this show after all! catherinejane January 15 Share January 15 I was sort of enjoying this episode - as they were going for something deeper than normal - suicide etc. But then to throw the threesome in at the end? just felt so wrong. It would be have been fine (though very unprofessional) at the end of any other episode. but not when you realise the person is dead dead and not being rescued. very strange choice. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150476-s01e06-i-always-cry-at-weddings/page/2/#findComment-8555151
Badgerette69 March 24 Share March 24 I just found this show and binge watched over the weekend. Talk about upsetting! Suicide and a 3 way all on one episode! Plus no one recovers from a sunburn and ringworm that fast! The wedding cake reminded me of Halloween! This was really rude in showing the suicide hotline at the end! This show is headed to the life boats! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150476-s01e06-i-always-cry-at-weddings/page/2/#findComment-8615459
