DanaK November 7 Share November 7 Quote 11/06/2024 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : Severide gets wrapped up in an Illinois State Police investigation after discovering illegal guns on a call. A bird harasses Mouch on the apparatus floor. Kidd keeps an eye on Carver as his attitude worsens. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/
Dowel Jones November 7 Share November 7 You go, Lieutenant Severide! Tell that Battalion Chief that he doesn't belong in your station. Put the entire CFD on notice, you did. If I did something like that, I would likely be outside calling out to Carver "Hey, you wanna ride home? I'm off for a few days too." The reason doesn't matter. It's the BC's business, not yours. Oh, and Carver? You deserved that. Not refilling/replacing an SCBA bottle is a big-time error. It's your life when you're inside the smoke. I will say that it also falls on Kidd because she is directly responsible for T81. It should have been done before leaving the scene, as they could have received another call. Mouch finally got a cute storyline. None of the usual harebrained schemes to make money or whatever. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/#findComment-8501167
iMonrey November 7 Share November 7 Pineapple and mayonnaise? Um, I know Novak is supposed to be "quirky" but that's a bridge too far. I don't understand why the pigeon was attacking Mouch but nobody else. If she's territorial about her nest then anyone walking by should have been attacked. I thought we were going to find out it was because of Mouch's cologne or something but no, they never explained it. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/#findComment-8501356
NJRadioGuy November 8 Share November 8 I was just gobsmacked that there were a couple of pieces of apparatus not associated with Station 51 on the fireground (and—gasp—they actually knew how to put water on fire). And speaking of 51, where was Engine 51 this episode? No mention of it or its crew anywhere. I'm guessing cost saving for the show? Not a bad job by actor Christian Stolte throwing that ground ladder in the station all by his lonesome but I'm curious what was going on outside the camera frame to help him out, and/or how many takes it took to film. I'm about his age and even throwing a 12 footer against the side of my garage is a workout! Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/#findComment-8501652
Dowel Jones November 8 Share November 8 He should have had Capp foot the ladder, though. I could just see the butt end sliding out on the cement floor as he climbed up to the nest. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/#findComment-8501671

They may have been able to exclude Engine for both budget purposes and giving him a rest. They do usually make up some throwaway excuse though, so why someone isn't there, and I didn't hear that this time. Maybe we weren't supposed to notice, LOL. I think Severide was out of line, but I guess I'll give credit to Pascal for the way he handled him? It was a bit of, "oh crap, Severide has caught on and I understand why he thinks what he does, so I'll tell him the truth and not yell at him..." But the "my firehouse" line was a bit too far; Pascal should have at least called him out for that. Maybe he likes Severide's passion and dedication... or that he's going to lose the respect of ALL of his lieutenants if he doesn't start to give them a little leeway. Sev had been sucking up until now - I guess it bought him some grace. Mouch was a decent story, but I too would like to know why only him? Rather than cologne, I was thinking that he'd discover that something on his clothes or bag looked like the lost egg. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150467-s13e06-birds-of-prey/#findComment-8502019
Sandman November 12 Share November 12 So now Severide’s gone from being a part-time Fire Cop to Cop-Cop? Undercover, at that. Pascal needs to communicate more clearly with his lieutenants, but that would play hell with the suspicion and cheap dramatic tension, I suppose.
