In the early days of Survivor, it seems they used to dig a hole and defecate in the jungle. I distinctly remember that during one season, the reward was an outhouse and toilet paper. Maybe Amazon? Nowadays, everyone dumps in the ocean. I have no inside information, but I'd bet that just off camera there is one of those nice portable restroom trailers like you see at outdoor weddings and such. Or at least a few basic porta potties. They've softened the game so much with extensive wardrobes, easy water to drink, precut bamboo, etc. that I really doubt they leave the contestants to fend for themselves in the ocean when it comes to relieving themselves. Kinda doubt the Fijian government would appreciate people just going number two in the ocean either. (Huge ocean, small amount of waste of course, but still...) I remember the days of the underwear seasons, most famously where Osten's underwear lost the elastic and wouldn't stay up. Or when they just got the one outfit they were wearing. Sometimes they got swimsuits once they got to a certain point. Nowadays it does seem like they have a variety of choices. They have sweaters or jackets for when the nights get cold and I think sometimes a short sleeve and long sleeve option. So you are right in that there probably is some kind of facility for toilet needs. And maybe even one of those portable porta potty sinks for washing hands. Throughout the years of Survivor I've always wondered about washing hands before they eat. Did they just rinse in the ocean? What about for group rewards? I'd find it so gross if someone was grabbing a piece of pizza and touching the other slices with their poop hands. Was there at least sanitizer? I feel like sanitizer like Purell didn't really become a mainstream thing until Covid. Before then it was just for germaphobes like me. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150447-s47e08-hes-all-that/page/3/#findComment-8506458
Lantern7 November 14 Share November 14 Here's Erik's take on the episode. Unfortunately, it's a bunch of "clips" that I can't embed here, and he didn't post them on his Reddit. I will say that it is very funny. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150447-s47e08-hes-all-that/page/3/#findComment-8507159

And in that respect, the Peanuts music in the background doesn’t hurt. 😄 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150447-s47e08-hes-all-that/page/3/#findComment-8507511
