I'm first?

As if the Cowboys game wasn't punishment enough, Mr. Traveler actually watched the episode with me last night and may have had the last word on all things 90 Day:

"This is what you and your snarkers watch every week?"

Yes, because it's laughter and good people after a hard week for many of us.  Most of my country is holding its collective breath for Tuesday, one way or another.  Emotional Support Canadians, indeed. 

One grandfather was born there, one grandmother (his wife) was raised there,  and both my parents lived there at one time or another, but that's not enough to squeak me over the border.  i even love me some hockey, TimBits, and poutine with the best of them.  Fit right in!

I'm so ready to jump in the sack and make a baby with a guy who looks 15,  who tells me it's my fault for spoiling the mood for-gasp!-discussing issues in our two-month marriage spent on different continents.   I missed something-where are they going to live?  I thought Adnan didn't want to go to the States.  Is this what their marriage is going to be?  And what of said baby, even if they manage to make one?  Tiger will be a senior citizen when the kid graduates high school.  What of her changes as she ages?  Will they bump into that second wife issue for his kids, shades of Usman and Kimberley?  And why do we think of all these questions but they don't?

Vanja, Bozo isn't picking up what you're practically throwing down in front of him.  He's either: just not into you; emotionally arrested,  too immature for an adult relationship, or still into someone else.  I suspect all four.  And may I suggest Tiger's makeup artist? ( I mean, the non-Botox Tiger look of a couple of weeks ago.  She was pretty!)  Time to call it splits with Bozo and enjoy beautiful Split by yourself.

It must be the almighty green card for Matilda and her relatives, else why would they think awkward Niles is such a catch?  Wouldn't they want to vet this stranger from another country and not of their culture before the wedding?  He's in way over his head.

The other one who just avoided becoming Bruce the Shark's lunch is Chidi.  For God's sake, Chidi, you are so damn kind and way too accommodating to recognize a crazy loon.  Good on you to walk away-now keep going back to your family and friends who truly love you.

Sweet turnips on rice-now we find out Veah and her ex actually had a baby who died, or a miscarriage?  I missed which one.  I have too (both), and it's not just an "oh by the way", thrown out for manipulation.  She still loves the ex, not Sunny.  Sunny is a bit cloudy in the head if he doesn't see that.  

At least no Loren or Brian this time.  I think I'd have to turn on the Browns game at that point.

Rayne keeps showing that she has very serious emotional issues and doesn't care who she hurts. The things she said to Chidi on the beach were hurtful at the level of someone going through a bitter divorce. And that's what you get from her when she's trying to woo you back? I worry for her kids.

Stay strong, Sunny. Do not get sucked back into that deception with a woman who is screaming from the rooftops that she is not over her ex.

Vanja! The pink eyeshadow makes her look like she has some terminal ailment. She seems like a kind, pretty woman but the pink eyeshadow circles around her eyes are not doing her any favors. Sad for her.

Vanja's pictures could be used as a tutorial to show how not to use make up as she looks so much prettier without the makeup than with.

The translation said Matilda's relatives were fine with postponing the actual wedding ceremony, but their faces were saying Hell no!

Veah was trying to use ApplePay to buy a chunk of pineapple from a woman sitting out in the street selling fresh fruit off a card table.  Veah's traveling a continent away from home with no rands, euros, dollars, coins or bills of any kind??

Veah is an idiot, unless it was just an excuse to call the ex to come help, which I suspect it was.

I don't even go back to the UK without a few notes in my pocket even though I know most of my cards will work along with Apple pay etc. Then again I am allergic to foreign transaction fees that most US credit cards charge you for using them abroad, I have a special credit card for that which has no foreign transaction fees.

I may be the only one here who has faith that Niles will come back to marry Mathilda. And while she may be from a poor family and want to come to the USA to improve her life - Niles acknowledged that Mathilda is teaching him how she wants him to treat/respect her, and also how he can navigate social situations more successfully. And he seems thrilled that she is willing to do that, and for that reason, I think they make a nice couple. A lot of folks here have ragged on Niles for not telling her sooner about no wedding this trip, but he explained it this episode, he often knows what he should do, but he cannot follow through on things some times, and that combined with masking, and making everyone else feel comfortable, becomes more important than him doing what is comfortable for him. I get it, and I like these two, they are a good match and I hope Niles' parents come to their senses and learn to appreciate this young woman who is a good match for their son.

Joey Blue Balls is way too stereotypical, I feel like he's playing a character for us. Does anyone think he just left home early and flew to Poland earlier, or that he;s holed up in his house, and not going to Poland? The way Miss Chirpy was so happy going to the airport on the other side tells me he left earlier than production thought he was leaving. Because you know Magduh has his balls in a jar already and has been calling him every hour on the hour until take off. So I doubt she'd go to the airport not knowing he's boarded his flight, right? And what's up with how he pronounces her name? Isn't it Mahgduh, not Maaaagduh? And not for nuthin' but I wouldn't fly to Poland if I was being told sex was off the table 'until I get to the USA'. Joey DohNuts lady relatives are right, red flags a'plenty here!

Re: next weeks previews, anyone else wishing that Ingrid would just let Creepy fly into the ocean as she continues bicycling along, happily? I love her "I'm not going to do everything for you or be a mommy or a caregiver" line. She's got to ditch this creeper!

I think Niles and Mathilda make a sweet couple, too.  And they both seem very authentic and genuine in their affection.  I just don't think Niles is going to get home and generate the wherewithal for the huge effort required to get the money together and get himself back to Ghana to get her.

 

I think this because of the scene in the car when Niles told Mathilda that he was going to tell her parents that he'd never had any idea about any wedding happening on this trip.  Well, that's bullshit, but he seemed to have convinced himself in the moment that it was completely true and he was innocent of any gaslighting or lying or misspeaking.

 

I think he'll also be able to convince himself that there's some perfectly cogent explanation for why he can't go back to Ghana.  A reason in which he's not the bad guy.

 

It would be great if I'm wrong.

 

Meanwhile, I really hate to see them do the "knocking" part of the ceremony.  That surely takes Mathilda off the market and I don't want her to wither away, tied to a man who never makes it back.

I don't see it as desperation. She told them because it's pretty outrageous that he hasn't even kissed her yet and she didn't want to play along like everything is fine between them. She has every right to feel like he misled her and put her in an awkward situation with his friends.
