chaifan October 30 Share October 30 The structural stuff didn't bother me this week. I could be wrong, but I understood it to be part of the tradition of the Paris-Brest pastry. I really liked Gill's, both the base (simple, but very elegant) and the pastry. Paul was right - it really was the best looking showstopper in the room. I'm glad she got Star Baker. I also liked Dylan's base. It was very modern, but also a bit goth. I noticed that there were shots of Illiyan's showstopper before it started to fall. I'm guessing that the film crew goes around as soon as possible to get good shots of all of the bakes, just in case something fails due to heat or whatever. Sumayah has a lot of talent, and I like both her combination of flavors and her artistry. But I feel her showstopper base just didn't live up to its concept. 1 Link to comment

The Paris-Brest is just the choux rings with the crème mousseline filling that they made that was set on top of the edible base. 4 1 Link to comment

Screwing around when things are tense is not kind and breaking that bowl of caramel could have been avoided with a little more thought about tossing things around in a crowded venue. I would have slugged him. Nelly let him off easy. Cuz she has a giant crush on him. Girl, me too. 3 1 Link to comment

He’s so unintelligible I have to rewind and put the subtitles on every time he’s on screen. His accent sounds very Cockney to me. Didn’t one of the voiceovers in the first or second episodes actually say he’s a Cockney? I haven’t been bothered by his accent at all because I just thought that’s what it is. Link to comment

I'd consider that there are a whole bunch more interactions filmed and not used. I think the editors have made the conscious decision to highlight Noel's cringe moments and mischief while Alison gets a "kinder" edit. 1 Link to comment
