chitowngirl October 23 Share October 23 When Isabella starts trying to make changes to the tavern, Bobbie worries that this new partnership may not work out; Bobbie offers to take Isabella under her wing so she can learn about the tavern, but Happy's lawyer fumbles Bobbie's plan. Link to comment
seacliffsal October 27 Share October 27 I thought this episode was a bit better. Really enjoyed the Emmett character. However, the Isabella character just isn't sympathetic or rotatable to me. And, of course it ends with Isabella moving in with Bobbie. I get the feeling that they're trying to recreate Reba (the show) with different characters. I think they have to re-evaluate how the characters are actually interacting rather than how they wish they would interact. Maybe they shouldn't haven given Isabella 50% of the business (especially as the dad had never acknowledged her but is now forcing his daughter to share the business). Maybe the reveal of having a half-sister would have been enough to create interactions and storylines. 1 Link to comment
Browncoat October 27 Share October 27 Isabella needs to slow her roll. I get that she doesn't know what her role in the running of the tavern is, but in these situations, it's best not to come loping in like Rambo without a jockstrap and just taking over. Watch for a couple of weeks and see how things are going. Then offer suggestions. But don't interfere with Emmett! Honestly, Dakota could have fixed the tap without any problems. That kind of thing would be covered in the "other duties as assigned" portion of nearly every job description I've had (including retail-type positions). 2 1 Link to comment
ForReal October 28 Share October 28 I wasn't able to make it through the second episode. I figured when Bobbie insisted she knew best how to run things, it would set the stage for her to be wrong and be more open to other ideas. Now, maybe that didn't happen, but it was all feeling so heavy-handed and predictable that I got bored. I like the secondary characters more than the stars, at this point. Link to comment
Dimity October 28 Share October 28 Did anyone catch if they ever say how old Reba is supposed to be on this show? I am pretty sure she's not playing her real age - and she sure doesn't look it, I should be so lucky - but even so the age difference between her character and the half sister doesn't make sense to me. Or was something said and I missed it? Link to comment
ButterQueen November 1 Share November 1 I love Reba but her face looks like too many fillers. This show bores me with the Isabella character. She has zero personality or acting skills. Link to comment
seacliffsal November 1 Share November 1 There are so few posts that I'm thinking this show is DOA. Too bad. I was hoping for a fun little show but they totally messed up casting the half-sister and I think the whole 'I didn't know I had a sister' storyline doesn't work because a father who left half his business to a 'secret child' most likely would have introduced/made a relationship with that child prior to death. Also, the age discrepancy between Reba and half-sister seems a bit jarring IMO. I think they were trying too hard to replicate the show Reba-in that one it was an unexpected teenage pregnancy (Reba's show daughter) and in this one it is an unexpected half-sister. They also seem to want the half-sister to be a Barbara Jean-like character (from Reba show) BUT they have the real Barbara Jean-character right there (played by Melissa Peterman, the original Barbara Jean). Oh well, we shall see. Maybe they will shake out some of the issues and start pulling the stories and characters together in time to save the show. 1 Link to comment
