anna0852 October 24 Share October 24 Another solid episode! I’m always a little leery when they’re focused on Torres, but pairing him with Cook was a good idea. I particularly liked the beat when she came into the squad room Ruzek pointing her to the desk and Burgess telling her she could borrow some dry clothes, just the look on Cook’s face made it clear that she wasn’t used to being treated very nicely by her coworkers. It was a nice, low-key and subtle touch. Link to comment

threebluestars October 24 Share October 24 I'm surprised to find I'm enjoying the focus on one person per episode at the moment. I'm also really happy with the pacing of everything. Link to comment
Guildford October 24 Share October 24 Loved that they bought in Kiana Cook & not in the usual tropey way by making her antagonistic & with a shit eating grin like the previous female. Women don't need to be brash, abrasive, bitchy & snotty to be strong. I enjoyed her and Torres working together, but I really hope they don't try & force anything more than a brother/sister or besties vibe with them. Because that's all I got from them working together. More like Burgess & Atwater than Deadstead. I enjoyed all the Kim flags... that she's already stepped up into the detective role & did it without trying to be in charge. Even though Ruzek & Atwater were in the background it wasn't as sledgehammery as it used to be with the centric format. I feel like with a few more tweaks the show will have finally ironed out the kinks of the format. Missed Trudy this week... but I guess after 4 weeks of Platt goodness it was time for a down week. The rain... man that was intense. What I loved about it was that it was relentless... so many shows try & do a rain episode & it rains once, everyone runs around perfectly dry 90% of the time... PD has really stepped up their game this season. Five straight episodes I've watched.... and that hasn't happened for quite at while. 1 Link to comment
NJRadioGuy October 25 Share October 25 Another very solid episode for me. The rain and thunder was somewhat well done and set a fantastic mood, but they weren't careful with the waterworks at the beginning. When Cook and Torres exit the patrol car and head toward the house, and it's raining heavily, look at the driveway next to the house. It's not raining on the driveway or at the front door. Their rain machine was only over the car. It took me out of the scene, but I guess budgetary concerns and all. It isn't the first time I've noticed that on CPD either. Same when they were going down the alleyway entrance to the house where they found the body. Heavy rain in the foreground, but bright sky through leaves in the background. I could have done with less-lingering shots of the victim's mouth. That there's nightmare fuel for a month of Sundays, but congrats to the makeup guys and gals for a job very well done. I'm liking Cook so far but I want to see what her character brings to the table, and if her acting ability is better than you-know-who's. Which wouldn't be hard. 1 Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy October 25 Author Share October 25 Constant raining adds a more sinister and darker tone to this episode. They spend so much on the rain machines, hope this will not lead to rotating cast for the rest of this season. 🙄 DAMMIT. When it rains, they put him in darker outfits. Torres in wet white T-shirt would be a delight… 😆 I like Torres in this episode. Torres does for Kiana what Jay Halstead did for him EXCEPT he trusts her, unlike Jay who doubted his intentions. Torres has treated Kiana as his equal. But I have not forgotten Torres’ reckless rendezvous with the older mob wife. That bit has tainted his character. Yes, I am petty that way. Officer Kiana Cook has earned Voight’s respect because she stands by her gut feeling. She is a badass, I give her that. But with only one facial expression, she lacks charisma. Hope the actress will improve on this. 1 Link to comment
Sake614 October 26 Share October 26 I really liked this episode, except for the dead uncle. I had to cover my eyes for that whole scene lol! I literally LOLed at Kim telling Kiana there were clean clothes in her locker. Um, I’m sure you mean well Kim, but there is no way Kiana is wearing your size 0 clothes! So who’s clothes did she end up wearing? 1 Link to comment

So who’s clothes did she end up wearing? Maybe she had some oversized sweats in there because Kiana was wearing sweats. Kim seems like the type who would totally wear some of her guy's sweatshirts, hoodies, and flannels. And if she steals them from him, they're officially hers. 🤣 My theory is that she maybe borrowed some toiletries and pants from Kim (she looked like she was wearing regular pants not sweats and trying to squeeze into men's pants if they aren't sweats or stretchy are a nightmare because they aren't fitted for hips or a butt. LOL. Probably borrowed a sweatshirt or Henley from Torres. I think she had both during that episode. Link to comment
