KeithJ October 10 Share October 10 Quote The chefs are in for a rude awakening that could make or break their Hell's Kitchen journey. During a fishy challenge, the chefs must go head-to-head in a seafood showdown where only one team can reign supreme. Airs: Thu, Oct 10, 2024 Link to comment
Yeah No October 11 Share October 11 At first I didn't realize there were two members of the blue team going home for not feeling well/needing medical attention. I didn't even look at the second guy's face right away. Of course Egypt wasn't sent home. The most annoying person stays around just long enough to create more drama for the show. It should be interesting to see who from the red team goes over to the blue team. And of course in the first challenge it's a tie breaker right before the last two plates go up. God this show is predictable! I did enjoy seeing the kayaking under the drawbridge in the center of Mystic. I've been over it many times. That gray hazy weather was more like what we had all Summer long around here. Yes to the New England seafood being among the best in the country and the world. I am fortunate to be able to enjoy it all the time. 3 Link to comment
tinkerbell October 11 Share October 11 In a cooking competition, they have chefs carry heavy boxes off a truck, until 2 of them suffer back pain. It's ridiculous to have them do physical labor like that if they're not used to it. A slipped or herniated disc is pretty serious. 14 Link to comment
seacliffsal October 11 Share October 11 I don't see Egypt as being too 'egotistical.' I see him as being vocal in the kitchen to help organize and coordinate. I thought that Corbin was absolutely the right person to send home. Too passive and once one of the guys said all he did was stand there and move the towel from hand to hand, I couldn't unsee that. IMO, Brandon is the one with too much 'ego.' I liked Shant, knew he wasn't going to win (as he was one of the weaker chefs_ but was sorry to see him go because of an injury. Uri is probably nice, but was surprised he didn't go to the hospital but just self-eliminated. Am starting to like some of the chefs (and dislike others...). Still like Whit and am liking Meghan (?) on the Red Team. Just found out there was a chef named Anthony on the Blue team, but like him. There's also a Joe (I think) that hasn't been shown much-but he hasn't been making errors and seems removed from the drama so I may like him as well. I do like Egypt as well. Link to comment

I think that's why Gordon is always so nice about it when these things happen. He's thinking about liability. As he should BEFORE they happen. 7 hours ago, seacliffsal said: I don't see Egypt as being too 'egotistical.' I see him as being vocal in the kitchen to help organize and coordinate. IMO, Brandon is the one with too much 'ego.' Having big egos seems to go with the territory among head chefs. Egypt is just loud and IMO more serious about doing well than some of the others. I don't think his approach is doing him any favors but I think he's been right more often than wrong. The other men are going to gang up on him and try to eliminate him because they don't like him, not because he's a poor chef. I agree with the rest of your comments too. 2 Link to comment

I think that's being a little too forgiving of Egypt. Maybe it's me but I've seen Egypt act a little too much like "head overseer" with the other chefs and given that none of them has been elected to that position I don't blame them for not appreciating it, especially when he continues to push and bulldoze his way through them without end. Granted other chefs have taken on that role but not to the point that they piss off the other chefs. There's a way to do it without being too offensive. And Gordon does factor in how well the chefs get along and work constructively with the other chefs because that's important to the success of a kitchen. Egypt's abrasiveness is only creating more confusion and disruption. It's not just a popularity contest or that the other chefs don't like him. 1 1 Link to comment

Yes, I'm sure most restaurants have deliveries through the front door (as opposed to a service entrance near the kitchen) and don't have carts to put your stuff on. /s On 10/11/2024 at 5:50 AM, seacliffsal said: I don't see Egypt as being too 'egotistical.' When the guy was helping him get into the van, Shant wasn't even moving his arm. I'm thinking either a pinched nerve or a completely torn muscle. Uri may have been more a case of self-elimination. If I had a hard time standing in one place because of my back (which is what he claimed), I'd damn sure get medical attention. 1 hour ago, Yeah No said: I think that's being a little too forgiving of Egypt. Egypt is cooking well, but he's acting like he's already won this competition and is James' unofficial Assistant Sous-Chef or something. He's rubbing the other chefs the wrong way, and the minute he screws up during a service, they're all going to point the finger at him. Corbin was beyond useless, though. 2 Link to comment

I don't think he's causing any confusion. He's causing the others to not want to work with him. That's unfortunate because he seems to know what needs to be done but he's going about it all wrong. 3 hours ago, Sir RaiderDuck OMS said: Yes, I'm sure most restaurants have deliveries through the front door (as opposed to a service entrance near the kitchen) and don't have carts to put your stuff on. /s Exactly. Anduril October 16 Share October 16 Uri was moving around a whole lot for having a hurt back. I could tell Shant was in pain from the way he was moving. 4 Link to comment

Was it Uri who whipped a towel/shirt in anger? I remember thinking "daaaamn, I never would have been able/want to do that when I pulled something in my shoulders or back." Link to comment
oliviabenson October 18 Share October 18 I tried to watch it on Hulu. The episode is not playing well. It's basically not a complete episode. Who went home? The way uri threw the towel in the bedroom , boy wasn't truly hurt. He left because he realized he would never win. Link to comment
