It’s lovely to see James again, £2mil richer.

Fictional 1954

  • According to Dr. Collins, Melissa knew about Algernon’s scam.
  • Algernon found out about Samantha’s inheritance. He threatened Dr. Collins to share the money. Melissa told him something about Dr. Collins.
  • John lied about his alibi. The opera show in Barnstaple was canceled on the night of the murder. The opera singer had an accident, a hit-and-run.
  • John admitted that he decided not to go to the opera, returned home, had a terrible row with Melissa as she’s leaving him, then he strangled her. He confessed everything.
  • Pünd didn’t understand why Melissa wouldn’t leave the house despite knowing there’s an intruder inside. Why she returned to the bedroom? Why she didn’t lock the door?
  • Pünd and DI Chubb saw someone fleeing Melissa/John’s home but failed to go after him. Then they discovered that John was stabbed. Was John the real killer?

  • Alan visited Branlow Hall and talked to Lawrence, Cecily and Aiden.
  • Aiden wasn’t comfortable with Alan’s presence and told him to stop asking intrusive Qs.
  • Frank Parris lied about his hotel card not working. He also lied about going to an opera that wasn’t even on schedule — just like John Spencer lied about the opera in the book.

Present Day

  • James tell Susan that Alan knew Frank quite well. It was Frank who introduced James to Alan to help Alan exploring his sexuality.
  • Frank was James’ former client. James says Frank wasn’t a nice man — he likes power and playing games.
  • Frank had a relationship with a sex worker named Leo.
  • Alan has dedicated his book to Frank and Leo.

I think that the "Leo" who James said disappeared is really the fitness trainer from the hotel that Susan met as Liam.  James said that he thought that Leo was Australian and if I remember correctly, so is Liam.

I love this show but frankly, am confused as hell, but I think that we have the connection with Leo/Liam.   Or am I confused about this as well?

I thought they said the Frank Parrish took Leo with him when he moved to Australia.

Thank you. I can't keep any of these timelines or characters straight, other than what is happening with Susan. I think three timelines is one timeline too many......

I would say to at least watch that first - it will give you a lot of backstory with Susan, her boyfriend and the Greek hotel, Alan, and Susan's relationship with her sister. Also, her feud with the detective. I will say Magpie Murders was much easier to follow than this season.....

Lucy Foley sure got a nice shoutout!  She must be friends with AH.

And I absolutely hate her books, but they are very popular.
