paigow October 5 Share October 5 Aubrey Plaza was probably Plan B for casting Sofia... Vic needs a clothing allowance so he can blend in at all these fancy places... 1 Link to comment
peridot October 7 Share October 7 The beginning scene was tough. I can't even imagine going through something like that. Oz is very good at manipulating people. He inserts a bit of the truth and he's almost got me believing him. I'm surprised Vic invited Graciela to Oz's place and told her what type of person he worked for. I really hope nothing happens to her. I wonder if Sofia's therapist is the supplier of Bliss. I would be wary associating with a drug used on psych patients. I'm surprised Viti felt so comfortable talking shit to Oz when he was just caught fucking the boss's wife. I had to look away when Oz shoved the phone in his mouth, but I caught the caption that said "tooth breaking". Ugh! 2 Link to comment
thuganomics85 October 7 Share October 7 Took me a few seconds to figure out that the cold opening was a flashback to Vic's life before the flood. Damn, that was a tough watch seeing Vic helplessly look on as his family got killed. Nygma/Riddler really did a number on Gotham's citizens. But it is probably fair to say that Vic will end up regretting not going with Graciela/his girlfriend to California when it is all said and done. Oswald might be trying to give off a vibe of appreciating him and I don't think he's setting out to harm him, but when the chips are down, Oswald will always look out for Oswald first, and I don't see that working out for Vic. The time will come when it might be easier to sacrifice him and I can easily see Oswald doing it. Johnny Vitti is at the top of my list of characters I don't see making it past this season/series. The man is literally caught with his pants down and still thinks its wise to mouth off to both Oswald and Sofia. Even if he is quelled for now, I can see him trying to make a move against them and I don't think he has the smarts or temperament to make it work. His downfall will be fun to watch! Heh, as soon as Oswald asks Sofia to let him prove his loyalty, he straight up abandons her to a pissed off Nadia in order to save his own skin. Classic Penguin! Hopefully there isn't too long of a separation because Colin Farrell and Cristin Militoi's rapport and chemistry are the best thing about this series. Fun seeing Francois Chau as the head of the Triad. 1 Link to comment
paigow October 7 Share October 7 It is too early for Oz playing a Scarface last stand... Interesting twist would be Sofia & Nadia teaming up... Link to comment

Snazzy Daisy October 7 Author Share October 7 Quote “Trauma sells.” Oz came from nothing, always being considered a laughing stock and he doesn’t want to be reminded of that. Sofia is still haunted by her time at Arkham, continuously being judged by the public and undermined by her own family. Vic has lost his entire family in the blink of an eye. He saw from a distance how his family being swallowed by the flood. He’s struggling with survivor’s guilt especially with the way he left thing with his father. Vic seems to be mirroring the path that Oz has taken. Oz used to be Sofia’s driver and Vic is doing the same for him. Oz thinks his relationship with Vic is evolving. That’s why he gets upset when Vic acts like he’s being held hostage. Their scene in the restroom is a stark contrast to their scene in the restaurant earlier. The life with Oz is the “Bliss” for Vic — an escape from his old life. Vic finally realizes that he isn’t held hostage by Oz but by his own potential in this life with Oz. A great character development. 👏🏻 Quote SOFIA: “I don’t know how to trust you.” OZ: “How ‘bout I keep showing you how.” 3 minutes later… Quote VIC: “How about Sofia?” OZ: “F*ck! Leave her.” 🤣🤣🤣 1 2 Link to comment

Both times that Vic has been on body disposal detail, he was threatened with execution... feels like a hostage situation... Oz is betting on Stockholm Syndrome Link to comment
magdalene October 8 Share October 8 I am still dubious that Victor is getting out of this series alive. Link to comment
paigow October 8 Share October 8 Vic getting killed by Sofia / Maroni will give Oz a revenge motive that might extend to The Batman 2 Link to comment
paigow October 8 Share October 8 (edited) Need more details on the women Sofia allegedly killed. Was it mob related? ETA: Did Oz promise to corroborate her story, then bail when Carmine offered him a promotion? Edited October 10 by paigow Link to comment

Kel Varnsen Monday at 08:10 PM Share Monday at 08:10 PM Wait so Viti is fucking the bosses wife? But the boss is his wife's father right? So is he fucking his wife's mom? Also I kind of wish that they had made a Sofia show not a Penguin show. She is super interesting and it has been a long time since I have seen anyone on TV make smoking look that cool. One nice thing I like is they are really showing how fucked up and crime ridden Gotham is, so for sure Batman would be way to busy to waste time with the Penguin. Link to comment

So is he fucking his wife's mom? I don't know if it's absolutely clear but Luca Falcone (the boss) is (I believe) a cousin to Viti. I don't think that Luca's wife has any biological relation to Viti or even any close kinship by marriage. Link to comment

For some reason I thought that Carla (Sofia's cousin) was Luca's daughter and that Viti was her husband. Link to comment
