This was like watching a Monday afternoon of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethon.  Cameos from some bigtime acts (Buble/Schon & Journey) interspersed with excellent variety acts (Solange/Rhythm) and choreo/strength acts.  There was even a famous assistant host (Biles).  It really was a great 90 minutes of TV.  

The Top 5 were as predictable as can be.  

AGT avoided a major controversy, imo, with the drone group finishing third.

The nice man won and the fabulous dog lost.  That's the way the AGT cookie crumbles.

All in all, this was a pretty good year.  The GBs being handed out like Halloween candy bugged, but in the end, a worthy act was crowned.

Overall, this was a disappointing AGT for me.  The acts have become stale and repetitive.  I don't know what I expect anymore.  Maybe I shouldn't watch AGT  next season.  Lol...probably little chance of that happening!

 

It's a good thing Richard Goodall wasn't being judged by his performance yesterday because he sounded god awful!!  He was out of tune all over the place!

 

I was rooting for Solange to win it all, but I thought Roni/Rhythm were going to take it after a strong performance a week before.

 

I thought it was in bad taste for AGT to basically ignore Sabastian/Sonia's aerial act during Andrea Day's performance.  If you blinked, you missed them!

 

Well, at least Dee Dee Simon didn't take off her shoes.  That little act got old quick!

 

Richard Goodall won by the sympathy vote.  He won because he was a big dude who is a custodian and cried a lot!  He had maybe 1 good performance.  He was out of tune most of the time.

 

Was the finale "live"?  There was a rumor on social media that Goodall had won 1 hour before the winner was announced.  I read it and I was hoping it was just an idiot wanting to be .....well, an idiot!  I guess they were right.

 

Why would anyone want to spoil it for everyone and announce the winner?

 

I'm glad it's over.  The show once again needs changes.  I would be happy if the show does change a few things like...

 

.  Don't show the judge's or audience's reactions.  Show us the whole performance!

.  Eliminate the golden buzzer acts!

.  Do something about the audience cheering and applauding during the judge's critiques.  It's difficult to hear what the judges are saying!

.  No more fake scripted comments from the audience!

 

I know I'm asking for a miracle here lol!

Meh.  I figured the singing janitor would win.  He definitely won by the sympathy vote. 🙄

Considering he had over a million views on you tube and the others in the low 100ks I figured he would win if everyone voted.  He seems like a nice person so I’m ok with it.  I loved Rhythm so felt so bad for her owner but I don’t think she had a chance against Richard. Hopefully she can go on another show and win maybe the British version of agt.

my opinion: Richard is great, but he was born with that voice. Roni had to work to train Rhythm and Sky Elements had to develop that precise skill. So I think Richard should have been third.

Congratulations to Richard. I thought his voice was on the thin side, but people still love Journey, so....!

I also think the show treated the girl with the dog DISGRACEFULLY, ignoring her COMPLETELY after Richard was declared the winner. Not one hug, not one comment, not one acknowledgement from anyone. She was left awkwardly standing there.

The only good performance by Richard was his very first one. Ever since, he got progressively worse. He sounded absolutely horrible on Finale night. I can’t believe that he won. Well…. Yes, I can believe it. 🙄
