Snazzy Daisy September 19 Author Share September 19 Aaron’s parents are seriously flawed people. Dennis wants his 2 sons to succeed in school and sports but he is controlling and emotionally abusive. And Terri is a homewrecker. Aaron suffers a concussion then completely ignores doctor’s advice to stop playing football, drinking, smoking etc. Big mistake! 1 Link to comment
Tdoc72 September 19 Share September 19 Liking this so far. I’m not getting a lot of AH’s charm but the actor does the menacing part well. Link to comment
ShadowHunter September 19 Share September 19 Both of his parents were awful but Aaron's dad was very much macho and believed his sons should be. You must be macho and tough ect ect. I hate that but the actor did a great job conveying the fear and relief when he thought his Dad knew about him and his friend being seen in the car. Aaron should have stopped playing. He was not even in the big leagues yet and he had a concussion. 3 Link to comment
DanaK September 20 Share September 20 (edited) I’m enjoying this so far I was surprised at how tough Aaron’s mom was portrayed (I didn’t know anything about her before this). With such an abusive spouse, I expected her to be a wallflower, but no Perhaps the coach’s wife should have responded to him that she was fine with losing the material things if they kept their souls. Coddling these young men was not the way to go and ultimately bad for them, but too many football programs look the other way for wins and money Edited September 20 by DanaK 3 Link to comment

tennisgurl October 4 Share October 4 (edited) I very much remember when all this went down, its really interesting to explore it more in depth. I know there was a lot of talk at the time about Aaron's many concussions that had never been really treated and how much that affected its behavior, it really did start early. His parents were both pretty awful, neither of them seem like a prize. I love these early 00s songs making up the soundtrack, it really brings me back to my high school days. Sean Paul! 50 Cent!
