This was a great finale! If they were to leave it here and not do a season 3, I'd be satisfied. The story was well executed.

Damn that was one hell of an ending. Edith was an idiot for trusting Catherine and not listening to the Bourbons. Henri was an idiot for not listening to his father. Same with Alessandro and Jeanne.

But what an awesome attack. I was shocked that Catherine herself cut Edith's throat. She doesn't hold back. I love her using the Guises to take the blame and the Catholic league.

I'm glad that Antoine and Louis Bourbon survive. Although Poor Louis almost didn't.

The Red Wedding was the worst thing ever on tv.

Catherine says “hold my mead.”

Yes, I think the body count was way higher. Thing is, I wasn't sad when Edith was killed. I liked her in the beginning. When I thought she was burned alive I was sad. Then when I saw she was alive I was happy.

Then she turned into a religious power mad fanatic who was willing to kill people herself. Before then she seemed a humble spiritual person. She turned into what she preached against and paid the price. Not sad to see her go.

I wasn’t sad about Edith either.

Though I think Edith was a victim of deception as a result of the political game of one-upsmanship between the Bourbons, the Guises and Catherine. They created the circumstances for her fanaticism.

The person I really felt bad for was Aabis because she was a pawn and I think was the most deceived of all of them.

So am I. They crack me up.

Same here. I liked her until she became a mad fanatic and was dumb enough to think she had the upper hand on Catherine. Then it was fun watching Catherine luring her into the trap. She actually thought she won right up until Catherine cut her throat.

The framing of the Guises and Catholic League was so well done. Isn't this what Antoniette's been wanting all season? Isn't it what the Catholic league wanted? Catherine granted their wish.

I was sad that Montmerency died but because Catherine couldn't allow Edith to live, he had to go. He really was a man of principle. He should have never returned to court.

As for Alessandro, I was never really invested in him or his storyline with Rahima. So funny how quick she is to say they're now related due to a child when there is no marriage or proof of paternity but yep the kid is a Medici.

Catherine went to extremes and sent Anjou totally over the edge. All she wanted was peace for France but they couldn't let her have that. Now they all must burn. Only 3 children left at this point.

I liked Montmerency too. I didn't want him to die. But it wasn't possible. He was the only one that Catherine warned though. If only both sides had been willing to go along with Catherine's original plan for peace. But nope. They really brought it on themselves.  They both could have kept their positions but nope that wasn't enough. Catherine or Charles or any other king would never be able to get anything done with the Guises and Bourbons around. It was extreme but they kept blocking her attempts for peace.

It was stupid of Alessandro to want to stay for the wedding banquet, when Rahima wanted them to get out and get away ASAP.

It really was. Rahima, who knows Catherine best warned him that Catherine knew and how bad that was. But he wouldn't listen. Which was stupid.  I don't really care about Alessandro. I'm disappointed in Rahima for falling for him even though she knew he was betraying Catherine. It was really stupid of her.
