Um . . . OK?

This show started out interesting, but has become increasingly bizarre. Moreover, with this latest episode I have no confidence this can conclude in any kind of satisfying way in one more episode. I think we'll be left with a cliffhanger, and I don't like this show's chances of getting a second season. Even if there is one, it's not something I'd come back for at this point. They have utterly lost me.

A Sunny begins…

This is a peculiar episode and the exposition dump is a bit much. But it does provide some answers to some Qs.

Sunny falls into a “maphole” as a punishment for killing a man, against its programming.

Masa has created the homebots to cure loneliness. That’s why he sent Sunny (homebot #32) to Suzie. Masa indirectly made Suzie a part of his bot experiment.

The murder from Episode 1 has finally been explained. Poor Asahi.

One episode left and there’s so much questions, still. 😣

Bizarre episode, and I didn't understand or like the game show format. There were a couple of interesting scenes, such as when the Yakuza woman (head in the box) used the frog metaphor as a way to explain how she gradually turned Sunny into a bot that could kill. And I guess that's why Sunny went through the Wipe door (at least it looked like she did), for fear that she will hurt more people, including maybe Suzie.

I will watch the last episode but won't come back if there is a cliffhanger. Mainly at this point I want to know where Masa is, if he is still alive--or was this already answered and I missed it?

I don't understand why Masa never told Susie that he worked in robotics instead of refrigeration, but appeared in a promotional video about his robotics work?

Since said promotional video was shown inside Sunny's fever dream (or whatever the robot equivalent of that is) we don't know that he actually did. The framework for this episode leaves most of the narrative questionable. I find this kind of writing extremely pretentious. I'm sure they thought it was clever and fun but I'm not a fan. The story should be interesting enough on its own without these sorts of gimmicks.

Well, this was ONE of the BEST episodes of television I have ever seen. I hope it gets recognized for its exceptional storytelling. So much in one episode, and beautifully done.

So Masa was trying to create a cure for loneliness?  He almost succeeded. Emotions can be dangerous though.

Loved that the song at the end was Dulcinea from Man from La Mancha.

I have dreamed thee too long
Never seen thee or touched thee but known thee with all of my heart
Half a prayer, half a song
Thou hast always been with me, though we have been always apart

Dulcinea, Dulcinea
I see heaven when I see thee, Dulcinea
And thy name is like a prayer an angel whispers
Dulcinea, Dulcinea

If I reach out to thee
Do not tremble and shrink from the touch of my hand on thy hair
Let my fingers but see
Thou art warm and alive and no phantom to fade in the air

Dulcinea, Dulcinea
I have sought thee, sung thee, dreamed thee, Dulcinea
Now I've found thee, and the world shall know thy glory
Dulcinea, Dulcinea

Dulcinea, Dulcinea
I see heaven when I see thee, Dulcinea
And thy name is like a prayer an angel whispers
Dulcinea, Dulcinea

Dulcinea, Dulcinea
I have sought thee, sung thee, dreamed thee, Dulcinea
Now I've found thee, and the world shall know thy glory
Dulcinea, Dulcinea
