Spartan Girl July 3 Share July 3 I’m not opposed to revenge sex, but I’m glad Barbara didn’t have sex with the bartender. Making out with him is small potatoes compared to Rusty’s affair. Tommy is shady as shit. Even if he didn’t kill her, he’s way too invested in this for the wrong reasons. 4 Link to comment
aghst July 4 Share July 4 Rusty plays investigator, trying to find another possible suspect. Barbara wants to see if the bartender wants her because she wants to feel desired, since her husband desired someone else. Tommy Molto discovers that his collegues, including Carolyn, disliked him. So he gets on the populist soapbox about bringing down the powerful, which in this case means Rusty. Maybe he is powerful and privileged. Never saw a suspect in a case, even a big one like this one supposedly is, get a police escort to the court house. Then in the court room Tommy shows Carolyn in a sleeveless top? Before showing her corpse with her bloodied face turned towards the camera, that is. I thought there was a court procedure for showing what could be considered evidence, such as photos, to the jury. Instead Tommy gets to put on a little slideshow? 2 Link to comment
GiandujaPie July 5 Share July 5 Was Tommy in love with Carolyn and was jealous of Rusty, not just professionally but personally? And really, it took that long for LaGuardia to realize that Tommy was maybe too emotionally invested to be able to prosecute this case effectively? IRL, there is no way that this office would have investigated and prosecuted this case. It would have been handed off to a special prosecutor, the AG or another county. Way too many conflicts of interest here. 5 Link to comment

I also assume, since reporters were swarming her workplace, that people were watching her so I was a bit nervous (in a TV sort of way) about that. Even in earlier episodes, he expressed concern about Tommy's zeal in prosecuting Rusty. A special prosecutor or AG would have been the way to go here. But then we wouldn't have the show LOL. Definitely felt for Barbara who wanted to be wanted. It doesn't seem like she was even looking to cheat, just wanted to feel wanted. It seems like every episode she's learning more and more how into Carolyn her husband was. She's there beside him but she's hurting. Link to comment
