AnimeMania May 28 Share May 28 The Marlow Murder Club is a 4 episode TV Series airing on October 27, 2024 on Masterpiece on PBS at 9pm. The series has already aired in the UK on Drama and UKTV Play in March 2024. The TV series is based on The Marlow Murder Club (2021), the first of the three crime novels by Robert Thorogood set in the small but affluent British town of Marlow, which actually exists in Buckinghamshire. Already renewed for a 6 episode second season, two of the episodes will be based on Death Comes to Marlow, the second book in the series and 2 episodes each, will be based on original stories by Lucia Haynes and Julia Gilbert. Judith Potts is a 70-something year old retired archaeologist, who lives alone in a faded mansion and fills her time by setting crossword puzzles for the local paper. During one of her regular swims in the Thames, Judith hears a gunshot come from a neighbour’s garden and believes a brutal murder has taken place. When the police are reluctant to believe her story, Judith finds herself forming an unlikely friendship with a local dog walker and empty-nester, Suzie Harris, and an unfulfilled vicar’s wife, Becks Starling. As they start to investigate on their own, their progress gets them an invitation to assist with the official police investigation, headed by newly promoted DS Tanika Malik. The women must piece together clues, grill suspect witnesses and face down real danger as they work against the clock to stop the killer. krankydoodle June 3 Share June 3 I like Samantha Bond, but she's in her early 60s and looks it IMO. I wonder why they didn't cast an older actress or just make the character younger. Anyway, this looks like a fun watch. Link to comment

It's been pretty accurate so far for the club. 1. PBS misspelling 'sleuth' & 'breakthrough' is odd. 2. "gentle curse word" = HA! Same w/ 'eccentric villager'.
