Judith Potts is a 70-something year old retired archaeologist, who lives alone in a faded mansion and fills her time by setting crossword puzzles for the local paper. During one of her regular swims in the Thames, Judith hears a gunshot come from a neighbour’s garden and believes a brutal murder has taken place. When the police are reluctant to believe her story, Judith finds herself forming an unlikely friendship with a local dog walker and empty-nester, Suzie Harris, and an unfulfilled vicar’s wife, Becks Starling. As they start to investigate on their own, their progress gets them an invitation to assist with the official police investigation, headed by newly promoted DS Tanika Malik. The women must piece together clues, grill suspect witnesses and face down real danger as they work against the clock to stop the killer.

I'll definitely be watching this. I wish it was now because that would mean summer would be over and we would be in my favorite time of the year. See you in October!

I like Samantha Bond, but she's in her early 60s and looks it IMO. I wonder why they didn't cast an older actress or just make the character younger. Anyway, this looks like a fun watch.

PBS published this for Marlow Murder Club, but it should also work for any cozy mystery set in England or small town America.  It's been pretty accurate so far for the club.

1. PBS misspelling 'sleuth' & 'breakthrough' is odd.

2. "gentle curse word" = HA!  Same w/ 'eccentric villager'.  I kinda want to be known as the eccentric villager of my neighbourhood.
