ams1001 May 17, 2024 Share May 17, 2024 Thank you, show, for not subjecting us to an episode-long dramatic cave rescue. 5 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8371160
babyrambo May 17, 2024 Share May 17, 2024 Midori Francis leaving the show next season is a shame. Yasuda is arguably the most liked of the new interns and, alongside with Simone, the one I think gets the most depth and investment from the writers. I know the actress is choosing to leave but character wise it seems like a bit of a letdown; after fighting to get a grant, a stable place to live and finally getting back in the senior surgeons good books, she’s out? The ending of this episode makes me think she might fail the test but I really hope that isn’t how she makes her exit because it would be such a downer. Also, I know they’re both partnered up but the set up for when Yasuda woke up with Jules read as romantic to me and they definitely gave off some chemistry. Too late to go there now but I wouldn’t have hated it if they did. Currently, the other relationships (Ben and Bailey excluded) are super bland. Speaking of bland, looks like Adams and Simone are back on. I really like Simone (that speech she gave about Adams making her a better doctor couldn’t have been further from the truth though) but her and Adams together only irritate me. It’s like the writers can’t decide on whether they want some grand, ‘above all odds’ love story or a will-they-won’t-they and it’s gotten real old. Adams needs to get his act together because his entitlement doesn’t match his actions at all. I’m still holding out hope on them circling back to his ADHD as some kind of explanation for everything because it makes too much sense to simply dismiss. And other than Beltran and Amelia (I knew they were going there but I didn’t see the wife coming; could be interesting could be dragged out until it loses all intrigue, who knows with this show) the senior doctors were pretty forgetful this week. Especially the ones in the woods. Seems like the Seattle woods (and hospitals and ferry boats and sidewalks…) are prime ground for disasters on this show. Also am I missing something or is Owen’s idea basically just first aid classes? 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8371233
JeanJean May 17, 2024 Share May 17, 2024 (edited) I'm really enjoying the lack of dramatic hysteria this season. It's a nice change. I thought Owen would jump into the cave to save the guy. That's what would happen on earlier seasons. Nice change. CarpeFelis May 18, 2024 Share May 18, 2024 Seriously, how many people out there never heard of a tourniquet?! 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8372288

I would guess a lot of people don't know how/when to properly apply one, at least. But I'm sure there are plenty of first aid classes and videos out there that could teach you. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8372460
dancingdreamer May 18, 2024 Share May 18, 2024 I was a bit bored with this episode, I fell asleep twice. I was going to watch it today, but DH accidentally deleted it. Sounds like I didn't miss much. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8372565

I kept expecting someone to point that out to Owen, but instead we got Teddy and Catherine acting like he just thought up the concept of teaching people how to do first aid himself. I did enjoy Bailey yelling at Adams that she already knew the patient could end up in liver failure and asking him if he thought she was okay with that. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/147157-s20e08-blood-sweat-and-tears/#findComment-8372924
