I had to go and Google a bit for the details because they were somewhat fuzzy in my head, but I recall Brian and Erika got screwed as well in the final task of TAR 15 when they had to count poker chips and their dealer messed up.

They had actually finished the task first.  There were rumors of some kind of compensation after the fact, but I'm not sure.

It wouldn't surprise me if something similar goes down here as well.
