Snazzy Daisy February 26 Author Share February 26 A keloid scar has solved Catherine’s "white whale case". I thought Raphael Tarquenio is gonna be the big baddie for this season, I am wrong. The cold case is quickly wrapped up. Wait, Josh isn’t gonna be charged for kidnapping and breaking into the morgue??! Hey Serena, just tell Josh the damn truth. Why are you pivoting by saying things haven’t been right yada yada yada? Anyway, am thankful these two are done now. Their inability to communicate and lack of chemistry are painful to watch. Max talking to Allie about chemistry and Josh picking her as partner. Am just gonna ignore this foreshadowing. 🙄 Am not liking Catherine/Beau pairing. Beau is way more animated and fun with Penny and Chris. Catherine works better with Josh and she cares about him too, like Max. Their hug in the end…🥹 For 2 episodes in a row, it’s good to see this show has stopped alternating between Penny and Chris. They have different kind of nerdiness and that makes them interesting together. Plus, Penny makes Chris bearable, less cocky. 👍🏻 2 Link to comment
milkyaqua February 26 Share February 26 I was neutral on the Serena/Josh thing because I figured even if they clicked as a couple TPTB would mess it up so they could do the inevitable Josh/Allie which I am not a fan of. Josh and Allie both have issues even when working and having them together is asking for double annoying. I agree that Catherine and Josh are probably a better pairing in the field. As has been hinted by Max, Allie's partnering thing probably wasn't the best idea but she's got to learn this stuff at some point. I do like Penny and Chris working together but I can see the nerdiness of them being a bit much. Glad the Tarquenio case was wrapped up. 1 Link to comment
GiandujaPie February 27 Share February 27 Did we ever get a reason why Allie has a British accent? She reminds me of Neela on ER. There is no reason for her character to be British other than if the actress can't do a good American accent. I don't like Allie's plan of "permanent partners" necessarily but if Max already wants to override it or doesn't approve, why would she promote Allie if she didn't trust her judgment? I'm still not sure why Allie thinks this is a good idea. Wouldn't it be better for them to learn from each other by switching up the partners every so often? Isn't that what Grissom used to do? And sometimes on a busy night, they would get to work solo. Also, I'm not sure why Allie felt it was her place to judge Serena's job and force her to tell Josh, other than a ploy to force Josh and Allie together and create conflict. I'm with Max in that I don't think there was anything wrong with what Serena was doing, as there has always been a detective working with the CSIs. The only thing I question is if it was smart of Serena and Josh to be romantically involved when they work so closely together. 2 Link to comment
emma675 February 28 Share February 28 I'm guessing that somehow Josh will keep his job because that's the way these things go on CSI. But I'm not sure how Serena being an LVPD detective assigned to be embedded in CSI to make sure things are above board is some kind of betrayal. It's not like she was actively trying to sabotage anyone, she was just making sure the law was being followed, which was important after the Hodges stuff to rebuild public trust. Yes, maybe she should have told Josh she knew Nora Cross and had a past with her, but I don't see where Allie got off giving Serena an ultimatum. I also didn't like Serena using all of this as an excuse for breaking up with Josh, they had problems long before this mess and she knows it. I also hate Allie's permanent partners idea and think it's going to blow up in her face, but Max made her a supervisor for a reason and needs to back off and let her do her job. Why did she pick Allie if she's going to second guess her every step of the way? Catherine on a one woman crusade bugged me on CSI original recipe and again here. Great, all of the women except Penny bugged me last night. She and Chris and their all night mathathon were hilarious. As an aside, I finally figured out who Serena reminded me of - Meghan Markle. 4 Link to comment

For as long as I can remember, except for the color episodes of Dragnet and Sergeant Friday all the TV cops treat Internal Affairs as "rat squad". Even those characters who transfer out to the "good guy" police the public instead of police roles like Detective Bernard of Law & Order or Captain Raydor at the end of The Closer had to go through almost a probationary phase with our heroes to say that they are now part of us and not the enemy. The closest that I can think of to Serena's storyline right now is Detective Sasha Monroe on Third Watch as an undercover IAB field associate undercover as a patrol officer who got romantically involved with one of the officers on her assignment. I thought Ms Willows was coming back Las Vegas to run the lab, and had retired from the business when she came back for the reboot. What was she doing as just another line investigator, second on a scene as if she was in the CSI Miami Humvee that that the police helicopter can't get in front of? A 10 year old cold case wouldn't work as well as a 5 year old one? Link to comment
slowpoked March 9 Share March 9 That Allie character is really irritating. Who is she to be on a moral high ground to give an ultimatum to Chavez about telling Folsom? I wish Chavez pushed back and said she isn’t the boss of her. I understand Folsom being upset because they got romantically involved, but who died and made Allie queen? I’m glad Max told her, politely but firmly, to fuck off because Chavez’s presence and role in the lab is none of her business. 3 Link to comment
ottoDbusdriver March 17 Share March 17 Finally watched this episode -- and have never laughed as hard as when that truck went spinning through the air in Catherine's '5 years ago' flashback. Link to comment
