John and Jane aren't the only Smiths having fun. This time, meet Other John and Other Jane, another pair of Smiths, only they're SUPER high risk. But will the whole gang together be too much of a good thing? Double the laughs and double the hijinx! It's John and Jane's: DOUBLE DATE

Our dinner with the big brother and sister Smiths. It is partially a feeling of the John Wick world, except they knew that they were criminals. This crazy set up of working for Hihi with the hope it is government sanctioned. But now they know there is no retirement.

The transition of just ordinary folks who kill to the super soldier hidden by edits and shaky cam on the super high risk assignment when the elder Smith's subcontracted out does bring back the too efficient scene to open the show with the assignation of another pair of Smiths.

I don't really understand why they applied for their jobs not knowing who they were working for. Did they want to be spies so bad they'd just work for anyone?

As far back as I can remember I wanted to be a gangster. Henry Hill at least knew the bosses

I thought they were hired to kill them. They were strange, and funny. It all felt like a setup, flashing that credit card.

What is that credit card?  Is it unique or John just recognized he had been given the same one?  Paper trail it seems like

Yeah it looked like a setup to me as well.  Especially when the older John talked about killing the other Smiths.  Maybe bring up that it was because the Smiths they killed had 3 mission failures.

That dinner was surreal.  It looked suspicious that they came over, even though older John invited them to have dinner together and it was that night.

John and Jane were nervous, wanted to make a good impression.  They probably wanted to talk some shop, learn more about the company.  But they also tried to be like normal couples socializing with other couples.

The invitation to join looked like a setup all along, get dressed and leave immediately.  Then the vagueness about what was in the bags, what the mission was, the supposed GPS devices they put on their backs.

After their escape, they seemed shellshocked, maybe PTSD.  They just told the older Smiths that it was “pretty bad” and sounded subdued.  As opposed to angry and feeling setup.  But then the other Smiths sent them the full commission.

So it was cool, even the limbs they had to hack with machetes to escape?

BTW, which jungle with Spanish-speaking people are within a helicopter flight of NYC.  Maybe somewhere in the Caribbean?  Seems like too far for a helicopter.  They slept on the way so it took awhile to get there.

It was one of the Black credit cards reserved for the high roller class, not the ordinary working man, with the name John Smith. I guess "our" John and Jane had also been issued them to make their James Bond travel possible.

They were so naive to just accept what other John and Jane were saying at face value but it didn’t feel so out of sorts cause you can tell they desperately wanted to share their experience with another couple like normal people. They haven’t grasped yet that they are in no position to be normal. People who go to a cattle call for a non entity cia type organization aren’t going to be wise enough to ask the important questions.

Despite this, the end scene of them in bed is when I completely bought in on John and Jane as a couple and Mr and Mrs Smith as a show. The awkwardness of their telling each I love you for the first time is so charming and wholesome and then them laughing over how much they hate the other John and Jane…I just love them lol. I love how they are not just in love with each other, you can tell they are becoming each others best friend. 
 

I can’t rave about Donald and Mayas chemistry enough.
