Why are people getting so hung up about Henry’s hairdo in the trailer? Maybe it doesn’t bother me because I’m too distracted by his general hotness to care lol.

I didn't realize people were getting hung up. I thought it was because the Henry as Argylle we've seen is from the Book/Fantasy storyline.  I always figured that real Henry/Argylle would look different or if real Argylle was another actor altogether

Reclusive author Elly Conway writes best-selling espionage novels about a secret agent named Argylle who's on a mission to unravel a global spy syndicate. However, when the plots of her books start to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, the line between fiction and reality begin to blur.

I have a low tolerance for zany and it's the reason why I didn't like KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE and why I really dislike ARGYLLE.

What ARGYLLE has going for it is Sam Rockwell and Dallas Bryce Howard who excel despite Matthew Vaughn's unrestraint.

Everything else is diminishing returns.  However, wouldn't mind if what they set up in the mid end credits pan out to something more. I'd watch that.

Howard was fine as the author but didn’t buy her as a spy at all.  When it looked like she was doing the Kathleen Turner role of Romancing the Stone, ok, but full blown real spy, nope.   I was fine with everyone else.

the story was fine, good even, but it needed serious editing to be tighter .  Some of the action sequences were too long and “ice skating” on oil was ridiculous.

Somewhere toward the end I started to wonder whether the story had jumped back into fiction again.

I enjoyed the cast and decided to accept the exaggerated tone as it was intended. The visual of Alfie the cat was cute but it was more stress than it was worth to see him hauled around through so many action sequences.

There was the one scene where she was with the Keeper of Secrets but other than that she was mostly plucky rather than badass.
