Guest March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 Quote Nothing is what it seems when John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, is framed for murder by powerful forces with the ability to influence and control populations. Dropping April 2, 2023 Link to comment
hookedontv April 3, 2023 Share April 3, 2023 I am liking this show. I’m a big KS fan and loved 24. There are some tropes but I would say in general, I’m digging the twists and turns and it keeps my interest. One complaint about the timing of the flashback from 1986…. Kiefer and I are the same age. In the 1986 flashback, he was shown as a child, maybe middle school (didn’t seem even close to high school). I was in college in 1986, so that made me laugh. 2 Link to comment
marinw April 3, 2023 Share April 3, 2023 (edited) Yes, I’m Kiefer’s age too. The flashbacks should have been late 70s or early 80s I'm getting sucked in to this show which is Mr Robot meets 24. John has Chloe O’Brien level computer hacking skills. The tropes and ridiculousness is done at a high level. Charles Dance is terrifying. Edited April 3, 2023 by marinw 1 Link to comment
DesertCyclist April 6, 2023 Share April 6, 2023 Why is his childhood house still around -- and vacant, even? And after he tries to blow up the safe as a child, it's still there when he goes back later with his friend? What am I missing? Link to comment

He was still about 13 when they opened the safe. The mom had shipped him off to boarding school. There he met Valence. He decides me must know what is in the safe so he takes his friend who is great at codes with him to try and crack the safe. But even then, I agree. There had been an explosion in the house, it seemed like the mom moved out so the house was abandoned. There's no way that he would have been able to just walk into the destroyed house like that. The house would either have been condemned and demolished, or at the very least, all of the contents would have been removed and taken with the mom to wherever she went. She wouldn't have just left a safe there. Is the mom dead? I thought John had mentioned something about his mom dying to his dad. Or is she still alive and he just has no relationship with her anymore? Link to comment

The way supposedly dead people keep popping back up alive in this show I'm expecting her to show up any minute. Link to comment

She died because of you.” Link to comment
Pike Ludwell May 5, 2023 Share May 5, 2023 (edited) It's funny that the Keiffer character says "oh my God!" (twice). Just seems out of character. Edited May 5, 2023 by Pike Ludwell 1 Link to comment
