jewel21 February 19, 2023 Share February 19, 2023 Quote After a brutal shooting, Burgess and Ruzek find themselves trapped aboard the busy "L" subway. As they piece together scant evidence, the team is drawn into a dark family drama. Burgess' proximity to the shooting triggers harsh memories. Airdate: 02/22/2023 Link to comment

Guildford February 23, 2023 Share February 23, 2023 (edited) What an impressive performance by Marina. Wow, those panic attacks were intense & kudos to the show for finally giving space to the trauma that Police deal with & how it affects their mental health. Hopefully it's not just a one and done. Sure this character has been through more trauma than is rational & it's long overdue that they address the impact of those traumas. Marina did an amazing job, & the train scene was a great opening. My only slight beef with this episode was, while I get the metaphor of Kim having to climb out of the well and fight to get the lid off was showing how she was indeed 'trapped' & needed to do the work to 'save herself' ... the lack of urgency from everyone else was off-putting. Was Adam having a picnic somewhere? For a man who would've ran through walls when she was missing, he just meandered through the woods? It lacked the tension that could've made this an exceptional scene, even if she could hear them in the background, calling out to her, just something. For me it just deflated the ending a little. They could've still done the 'saving herself' scene but it just needed a bit more urgency from the outside. It was, however, the best episode of this season. DonnaMae February 24, 2023 Share February 24, 2023 They were in the woods looking for the guy. They probably didn't know exactly where she was. I agree it was the best episode so far, and Marina did a great job. Link to comment
NJRadioGuy February 24, 2023 Share February 24, 2023 Remind me again, why is Tracy/FelonyBarbie™ headlining this show? Why is she getting the A plots while Marina gets the B stories or a supporting role most of the time? If there was ever any doubt whatsoever as to who is the best actor in the series it was settled tonight (and half a dozen times in the last few years to boot). 2 4 Link to comment

I guess I know what they were trying to do but for me it felt un-organic that Ruzek wasn't at least frantic considering past behaviour. Perhaps if they had shown a brief scene outside the well of him or the team pinned down, chasing the guy or Ruzek frantically trying to find her or whatever it would've ramped up the tension a notch rather than I was sitting there thinking... 'where the hell is he?' She radioed him to say she was going down the well and he responded that he was almost there... and then nothing. It just took me out of the moment & fizzled the tension of that last few minutes. I think they could've done better, but if that was the only beef with the episode, then I'm happy with that. Snazzy Daisy February 25, 2023 Share February 25, 2023 Great performance by Marina and Paddy! The one thing that feels off re Kim’s PTSD is the continuity of her trauma. It becomes prominent only in this episode. Kim doesn’t need to be badass all the time. Why immediately go into the well? Assess all situations first. She could protect Lucas better from the outside while minimizing her chances to get triggered again. Yeah I know, she needs to feel “trapped” for dramatization. Please think of Makayla first before you put yourself in danger again, Kim… Link to comment

We've been saying Marina Is the best actor in the show for years. I still don't get why Tracy gets top billing over her Link to comment

I will add that they have done *slightly* better this season. We say Kim have her first major PTSD moment in her only other centric epsiode this season where she forgot her gun, we also saw her hands shaking in the Kevin episode. I mean all this is a season too late, but they had to shove Upstead down everyones throats first. And then teh first have of this season we had to watch the deserted wife over emote week in week out. If she'd stayed outside the well and he drowned? Kim pretty consistently chooses to save people first, is it the smartest thing she does ... no, but it is pretty consistent with her character. jewel21 February 26, 2023 Author Share February 26, 2023 At one point during the episode, Kim was looking at the victim's blood all over her bandaged hand and was freaking out. At first I thought she was freaking out because she clearly had an open wound and a stranger's blood was all over her hand. But, it appears she was only freaking out because the blood was triggering her PTSD. But, shouldn't she also be worried about the fact that the victim could potentially have HIV, hepatitis, or any other number of diseases? It was never even brought up at all, but I would think it would have been a legitimate concern in the moment. 1 Link to comment
Nintra16 February 26, 2023 Share February 26, 2023 (edited) I thought the show was going to do something with the team seeing Kim freak out on the train. When they were in the room with the TVs, it showed footage of Kim lying on the floor with the dead victim. Surprised they didn't have the team discover just how bad it's gotten. I know they won't bench Kim, but it'd be nice to see Voight check in about it (but they'd have to let him in on how severe her PTSD is). It shouldn't just be Adam and her deciding when to get help/not getting help. Love Kim but she really is a liability at this point. I was begging for anybody to help her when she was outside of the well shaking. I audibly said, "Where's Atwater?". She should really have her team around to support her with this. She's been through so much. Do you buy the COTW? Shooting into a crowded train because Jamie discovered their abuse was a little implausible. But it was an interesting case for sure. Happy 200th episode! Love the show but it's been a rocky season (with low ratings) and I'm not sure how much longer we will have with Intelligence. 😔 1 hour ago, jewel21 said: At one point during the episode, Kim was looking at the victim's blood all over her bandaged hand and was freaking out. Covered in a victim's blood and just take a shower like nothing ever happened. I'd personally never want to use my hand again but that's just me lol Edited February 26, 2023 by Nintra16 Link to comment
