AgentRXS February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 Quote Miami, 1999: Dwayne lands his first part on a TV show but is dismayed when he keeps getting typecast as a wrestler. While searching for his breakout role, Dwayne's acting career takes a surprising turn. Original Air Date: Feb. 10, 2023 Link to comment
DanaK February 11, 2023 Share February 11, 2023 Interesting that Dwayne got into acting because Vince wanted to use it to promote wrestling Link to comment
rmontro February 11, 2023 Share February 11, 2023 Yikes, looks like the coffee subplot isn't over yet. Apparently something about hosting SNL gave Dwayne an idea, but I don't know what it would be. Regarding that part where Dwayne played his father on That 70s Show. Not sure what the real Soul Man looked like at the time, but the actor playing him on this show certainly could have played himself at that point. 2 Link to comment
thuganomics85 February 12, 2023 Share February 12, 2023 (edited) Did not realize The Net Show was a thing and that Dwayne guest in it, but I definitely remember him on Stark Trek: Voyager! Where he both Rock Bottem-ed Seven of Nine and did the People's Eyebrow in alien make-up. But why talk about it when I can just relive it through the internet: Other than that, chin up, Randall! I'm sure you will host SNL someday! Maybe... Edited February 12, 2023 by thuganomics85 2 2 Link to comment
SoMuchTV February 12, 2023 Share February 12, 2023 Well, not sure if this was their primary goal, but good cross promotion? I just pulled up the SNL episode on peacock. Season 25, march 2000, I think? Pretty classic cast, if you’re of a certain age. I’m sure I didn’t get the inside wrestling references at the time or now, but it’s more of a touchstone for me than the wrestling stuff in the show itself. 1 Link to comment

Too bad he didn't do the People's Elbow, but that probably would have been too ridiculous. The People's Eyebrow always reminded me of Spock's eyebrow raise when he thought "Fascinating". I don't know if that was any influence on Dwayne or not. 2 Link to comment

With Dwayne being of the TNG generation and reading up on Star Trek for the role I am guessing that he came to the eyebrow independently from Nimoy's Mr. Spock Link to comment

He may well have been aware of it, even if he wasn't a fan of the series. Link to comment
