Right, but the scenario under discussion was about splitting Janine's kids among grade level, and Gregory's not teaching that grade this year. 1 1 Link to comment
kaygeeret December 7, 2022 Share December 7, 2022 Upon a bit of reflection, I have modified my previous opinion. I truly think that the Barbara and Melissa scene was not meant to be as brutal as it turned out. Sometimes friends can tire of another friend's preoccupations. And we all know Janine's unrelenting cheer and 'can do' sometimes can be grating. Still the scene was too harsh. That said, I truly loved this epi. As an ex HS teach, albeit many years ago, there were/are so very many constant irritations, roadblocks and sheer frustrations during a 'normal' day - not that I ever thought any day was normal - that this epi felt very, very real. Non show question: for those active teachers on this site, are there still coaches and administrators who apply pressure on a teacher to give a good grade - or change a grade - for a good athlete when a "big game" is imminent? How I hope that has changed. PS Sorry as this question would not apply to Abbott, but I am curious. Clearly that happened to me once in my 10 yr career. 1 Link to comment

It's not worth how trashed your room is when you get back, especially in lower elementary. Janine must be really sick to miss.... So of course I read that as "pubic" school teacher. I was thinking, Wow they have a specialist for everything!"😂 5 Link to comment

What grade does Gregory teach? I know Janine and Melissa both teach 2nd grade so I don’t think it’s that, but the kids all look about the same age. 1 Link to comment

That's where we first met Amber and now her son is in Janine's class. 3 2 1 Link to comment
Black Knight December 16, 2022 Share December 16, 2022 Yes. Barbara teaches kindergarten, Gregory 1st grade, Janine and Melissa 2nd grade. Then the show jumps a few grades to Jacob. I don't remember if they've explicitly said what grade he teaches, but it's at least 6th, maybe 7th or 8th if the school goes that far. (My elementary school went preschool through 8th, so it happens.) 2 2 Link to comment
Rebecca berkowit January 5, 2023 Share January 5, 2023 I’m sorry, but how stupid is Janine? I mean, first she can’t understand gravity, and now she eats a sandwich she knows has been sitting out of the fridge in the sun? And they even TOLD her not to be stupid enough to eat it. Isn’t this the show’s creator and writer? Why is she assassinating her character? I totally get that they needed her to be out sick. But couldn’t she have easily ACCIDENTALLY taken a bite of the sandwich BEFORE Ava told her how long it had been sitting there? 5 Link to comment
