That was actually a pretty good episode. I was expecting them to find a reason to stop from Hope dying. Glad they went through with it of course with them bringing back Raf and Freya it would have been bad if they still found some way not to go through it.

Shouldn’t they be able to get the monsters/parasite using that same spell Josie used in season 2 to get the monster out of Lizzie?

Why were the extras necessary for Hope’s dinner? Just have the ‘family’/squad. Those are the most important people in Hope’s life.

Got to admit they fooled me with Cleo still being in Malivore.

Really going to see how this whole thing plays out with Kaleb. I love the character but to basically sell out everyone to save a girl you aren’t even in a relationship with, might be something that would difficult to comeback from. I am hoping there is more to him going to Malivore.

I know that Finch is probably going to have some epiphany and realize she wants to stand by Josie but I would be satisfied with their relationship to end right here since finally Josie got to be the one to stand strong at the end and declared that she deserved better than love interests who leave her. I am sorry but between these teary scenes with them and Kaleb selling out to save Cleo, I can’t help but feel there hasn’t been enough to make me care about either couple and hope things work out. Haven’t liked Finch and as much as I like Kaleb, I have enjoyed Cleo more with Jed and Landon.

Glad Dorian was here. He is definitely part of what is missing. Alaric is a guardian/mentor figure but he is too emotionally involved. Dorian is also a mentor but he is more clear headed. The show needs that to balance Ric out.

Also know that even if Hope as the tribid defeats Malivore, we will probably still have Landon but I can’t help but feel these last few episodes with Hope working with all the other cast members have been so refreshing and what I would like in the future. Not wanting to see her go back to every week the relationship being the focus

I didn't watch The Originals (I watched The Vampire Diaries) so I don't really know exactly what being a tribrid means or why it's a big deal, or who exactly Hope's aunt is. Can anyone enlighten me?

No kidding!  It's BEYOND ridiculous that Kaleb would betray them for someone he just freaking met a few weeks/months ago!!!  And then you have Hope, who is willing to SACRIFICE Landon (her boyfriend & Epic Love???). When the contrast is pointed out like that, it really makes you think the writers just don't give a crap anymore.

I didn't watch The Originals much, but from what I gather, the aunt who showed up - Freya is the first Mikaelson child who was given to a witch so the witch could teach Mama Mikaelson how to turn the rest of them (Mom, Klaus, Kol, Rebekah, etc.) into Immortals.  That witch raised Freya and taught Freya witchcraft.  Somehow or other, Freya came into the modern world from those Viking days.

Hope is the world's only Tribrid because she can be a witch, vampire and werewolf simultaneously. All those abilities would come from her parents (wolf mom & wolf/vampire dad and witch grandma ). Although, it's not clear if Hope will keep her witch powers, as she herself stated in this episode, since it was shown on The Vampire Diaries that witches who become vampires might lose their witch powers (like Bonnie Bennett's mom).

To go a little more into detail about Freya. The Original Witch aka their mother when she was younger and not as proficient in magic went to her sister because she wasn’t able to conceive a child. So her sister agreed to help her but the price was the first born child of each generation for all time. When Freya and Finn were children and the mother was pregnant with Elijah her sister came and took Freya. Her husband, Mikael had been out with the other warriors on some battle so he was told Freya died from fever. The mother used this as an excuse to move the family where they would eventually end up in Mystic Falls where the story picks up in Vampire Diaries. Freya was taught magic by her Aunt and their lives were bound together. The aunt was able to extend their lives by putting them in some kind of hibernation for like a 100 years at a time and then they would get to live for a 1 year. Freya and Hope are also close possibly closer then her other family members because events happen in the Originals that made it impossible for the other Mikaelsons be able to be near Hope for a period of time so Freya helps Hope’s mom in raising Hope when she isn’t at the Salvatore school.

Also regarding Kaleb, it seems even worse when you consider that I don’t think Cleo has spared him a thought. She mentions her great love, she offhandedly also mentions kissing Landon, and for some reason when Malivore got into Cleo’s head to set her up, he decided that Jed would be someone that Cleo would want to rescue/find her. I know that doesn’t mean she doesn’t necessarily mean she doesn’t care for Kaleb but the show couldn’t even have her ask MG and Hope about how Kaleb was. Something/anything to show she could start feeling something for him.

There is one thing that I wonder, with Ethan being possessed, does it have the same impact on the compulsion as when someone becomes a vampire?

I normally love Kaleb, but selling out everyone for a girl he hardly knows is something that its going to be hard to come back from. I know that the characters will forgive him, because people on television are ridiculously forgiving, but it might take longer for me. All of this for a relationship we hardly know about? Say what you will about Hope and Landon, at least they have actually been together for awhile.

Nice seeing Raf, Dorian, and Freya, I am glad that someone has been keeping Raf in the loop about his best friends possible deaths. I miss Raf. They seem to be really going there with Hope becoming the Tribrid, but I am still not sure they wont hit the reset button.
