We never got a scene between Marvin and Juke before this episode to know their relationship. There was one brief diner scene and that's it. We finally get one and it's him finding out she's gay then spitting/violence ensue. Unreal this writing.

I understand Raq mentioned to Juke "Sometimes the police are good friends to have" but Juke's first thought was to go to Burke instead of Raq?  Raq showed acceptance/understanding to Juke. Also, Raq wouldn't tolerate Marvin ever hitting Juke. Doesn't make sense.

Lebanese?! He is dumb!

Wouldn't be surprised if Juke ends up killing Marvin.

Previous episode ends with Marvin holding Lou's body asking for help and we hear sirens. For Marvin to still have his damaged/bullet filled car, dId he take Lou to the hospital before the cops/fire/EMT arrived or did he just leave Lou on the ground and drove away?

Raq is cold to setup Kanan to shoot his father. So Kanan shoots his father and later kills his son.

What's the point of having Kanan wear Nique's jacket? Was wearing it in (I guess) Nique's territory supposed to give him an "easy" pass to get to shoot him?

After Lou is moved, a cop is sitting far from his room. I guess the last attempted assassination didn't motivate them up to have a guard posted right next to his door.

So Raq, Lou, and Marvin's mother never knew Lou was in the hospital? Is she estranged from her kids and grandkids to not get word about her son?

I got nervous seeing Raq at church, I thought Nique's people were going to spray the place.

I thought Burke's entire family is in the police force? I don't think there was a mention of a dead brother. I wonder if she's lying being gay to Juke just to get close to her. She even lied about talking to the cops that had Juke. Burke told the dispatcher to have them release her.

I'm surprised Nicole's parents were questioning Burke. If they know "powerful" people, just go raise hell to them to get another detective to arrest Juke instead of going to Burke.

Where is Juke getting information about what's going to happen, we hardly see her interact with anyone on the street?

Jeez Symphony! Just move on. Is this abuse really worth the time/trouble? I thought he was going cry.  I guess Toni will get her moment to be placed inside a microwave soon.

How many times are we going to see Nicole's envelope to Juke??!! Let's see/hear what she wrote!

Nique has bullet proof windows. Marvin had one shot at him knowing there's a rumor the car is bullet proof and still decided that was the best option???!!!!!

The school's principal and Nique must have had quite the chat afterwards.

Next time Lil Rob , whisper "Kanan" to the police. Not out loud for strippers and patrons to hear and get word back to Marvin.

The scene with their mom made me question if Lou, Marvin and Raq have different moms. That scene was a little weird. The character didn’t give any maternal vibes at all.

That scene with Juke and Marvin was intense.

I also don’t think Raq would tolerate Marvin hitting Juke, but I also think Raq wouldn’t tolerate Juke hitting or spitting on Marvin either. Sure, Marvin has been a fuck up and deadbeat father in the past but Raq loves her brothers no matter how cold she comes off. Also, Raq seems like the type to believe “a child should stay in a child’s place.”

I originally thought Jukebox went to Burke about Marvin but she didn’t do that. She said nothing about Marvin so now I’m wondering what was the point of going to Burke.

Also I think this is the first episode that we start to see a link between young Jukebox and adult Jukebox becoming a cop.

Yeah that is pretty cold with Raq using Kanan to try to kill his father. However it seems that Raq has quite the plan going on and is using her whole family. It seems like she is going to try to use the cops in her war against Nique. Which gives a whole new meaning to what she tells Juke about having cops as friends. Regarding how Juke got the information and why she went to Burke have the same answer: Raq. I think Raq is using Burke and the cops to believe that Nique is the one who is responsible for Kanan’s father (forgot his name) getting shot/killed. It is a good plan as she doesn’t have the men to straight up take on Nique. Of course there is one problem with the plan.

She trusted Kanan not to screw things up. Seriously two the chest, one to the head. How f’n hard is that?

Regarding Juke becoming a cop, I think that this episode and something the actress playing Juke kind of put a new thought about it. The actress in a reply to an Instagram post about Juke becoming a cop stated, “Does she become a cop or is she just someone with a badge?” So this quote along with the thought of having cops as a friend makes me think that Juke becoming a cop is her way of helping with the family business.

Was the original plan would have been for Lou to wear the jacket to shoot Nique or Howard??!

I thought Raq had Kanan shoot Howard as a response to his demand he told her at the hospital. Maybe it's "two birds with one stone".

It was an unexpected surprise to Raq: Juke mention Burke. So she took it to her advantage. But if Juke is just going along with Raq's scheme, she is ice cold to just shake off her fight with Marvin to follow this plan.

Also, why is Juke a Baltimore cop and not NYPD. Maybe Raq moved her business there.

The preview showed Howard alive being rushed to the hospital. If he somehow makes it through, I wonder if he will say it was Nique who shot him just to gain favors from Raq/Kanan to be a donor.

I’m thinking the Mom is a “cafeteria Christian” she looks down on her kids for living the drug dealing life but was more than happy to accept the house Raq bought her.

We are in agreement. I think Raq would disapprove of what Marvin did, and would allow Juke to stay with her, but would also tell Juke that you can’t step to grown men looking to fight and not be prepared to win- even if they are your father.

Likely Raq will just tell Marvin “you fucked up with your daughter”(and that be the end of it), which Marvin knows. Marvin knows Juke won’t come back, that’s why he cried at the end.

Very bad move to go after Nique's kid too and then not succeed in completing the hit. Marvin stays screwing up.

Well at least Symphony was thoughtful enough to snitch on Toni on his way out. He didn't have to do that after the way Raq dumped him so cruelly. Hope Symphony takes no for an answer this time.

I think Juke should've found another way to handle her grief. Nicole's parents probably would've sat on the truth about Nicole's death if they hadn't caught Juke in their house.

Did Det. Burke really think she could bond with Juke over being gay? Juke is still a kid so there was something a little creepy about that to me.

Why was Marvin going through Juke's stuff? Breaking into a locked drawer went beyond just looking for some better music. So then he learned something he didn't want to know.

Marvin is such an idiot. Dang near strangling his own kid to death will likely be a regretful mistake.

Huh, that was a lie Juke told Burke. Why would she be trying to send the cops after Nique and his crew? Won't that help Marvin in the long run? (Okay, over on reddit they're saying Raq likely sent Juke to work Burke. Her plan was to use the cops to end the Unique problem.)

Raq's mama. Yikes, guess the cold-bloodedness was in the genes. Made all the worse because mama thinks she's got God's blessing to release her from any responsibility for the way her kids turned out.

So apparently Raq sent Kanan to kill Howard and leave Nique's jacket as evidence. Why would she put something like that on her own kid? Kanan's likely going to be extra messed up when he finds out Howard was his father. Meanwhile, Nique probably has plenty of alibis to prove he was elsewhere when Howard got shot. (And per the previews, Howard doesn't die so maybe he'll remember who actually shot him and use it against Raq.)
