thewhiteowl August 30, 2021 Share August 30, 2021 Cornelia Marie skippers Josh and Casey follow a blind tip from an unknown fisherman into uncharted waters. Johnathan fears for the worst when Freddy lands in the icy Bering Sea. On the Wizard, Captain Keith tempts fate, risking thousands in crab gear right at the ice edge. Link to comment

He jumped into the water when he was on the Wizard to get up close and personal with a bloated walrus. Honestly, he could have just gone up into the wheelhouse and hung out with Keith . . . 3 1 Link to comment
kassa September 1, 2021 Share September 1, 2021 As Casey's saying how the guys on deck won't eat for 6 hrs all I could think was "Josh can't make sandwiches and hand them out between strings? They have to burn 6 hrs worth of mega calories before they eat?" Only to have Casey tell Josh he can go heat up some hot pockets for them if he wants to feed them. So does he? No, he says Casey's in charge so they won't eat because that's what Casey wants, and HE would do it differently. Like Casey gives a flying f if Josh does something useful. You'd think Josh would WANT to show himself being all benevolent and looking out for his men... but in this case it would require putting a jacket on, so too much effort. 5 Link to comment
merylinkid September 3, 2021 Share September 3, 2021 Freddy didn't "land" in the sea, the idiot JUMPED. Then he fucked up the hydraulics but only his " quick reflexes" saved him. No the guy is crazy and is pushing things to see what he can get away with. I do not get why he is so beloved on all the boats. He picks fights, he does stupid attention seeking shit and puts people in danger. the exact OPPOSITE of someone you need out in the middle of the ocean while doing a dangerous job. 2 Link to comment
kassa September 6, 2021 Share September 6, 2021 Freddie's a definite liability, but one they're willing to embrace because apparently he IS really good at what he does -- until he crosses whatever line and ends up on another boat. There's a very odd dynamic - he always publicly hero worships his current captain, but I've also always felt they've been afraid of him, and turn sheepish when scolding him for something they'd fire someone else for on the spot. But they also manage to get rid of him eventually, while never addressing why. Maybe he stops working on the boat off season and they use that as justification? There's some offscreen blowout that never ever gets mentioned? He just appears somewhere else. Does Disco love him so much they insist that SOMEBODY take him each year? I'd express amazement that the insurance companies wouldn't raise hell over somebody voluntarily jumping into the Bering Sea, but they never seemed to care when Edgar played with fire in enclosed cabins or Johnathan fired multiple rounds at ice or threw fireworks directly at people, so there appears to be little that will cancel whatever kind of insurance they have. Lonesome Rhodes September 6, 2021 Share September 6, 2021 Disco was reasonable, for once, in describing the weather. It was plenty dramatic enough. Keith with one of his standard narcissistic V/Os. The edit was not kind. LOL He had just talked about what good fortune it was to have the unusual winds which kept the floes at bay. His next V/O was about how he can't catch any breaks and that fishing is a tough deal. We were reminded that Casey is not a good dude. Compared to Josh H., he's a fricken Saint. But, at his core, he is a particular and dangerous alpha. One of these days, his luck is gonna run out and others will really pay. Haven't heard a breath of a hint about a quota/shutdown issue in weeks. I guess Harley really did save the fleet. 2 Link to comment
