We have a showrunner!  I don't know who this person is, but hey, it's news.

Quote

Comicbook.com is reporting that veteran TWD writer and producer Channing Powell will serve as showrunner for the series.

Powell has been with The Walking Dead since season 4 and started with Fear the Walking Dead in season 6. During this time, she has written or co-written 18 episodes of TWD and 2 for Fear TWD. She has also served as a producer for both series, 96 episodes of The Walking Dead and 16 for Fear the Walking Dead.

Tales of the Walking Dead not coming in July…but there’s good news!

Tales of the Walking Dead release date

The good news is that we don’t have long to wait for the premiere of Tales of the Walking Dead. AMC will air the first episode on August 15 at 9 p.m. ET., which is the traditional TWDU time slot. AMC+ will air the first two episodes of season 1 on this date, with subsequent episodes airing a week early.

"It's only 6 episodes!"  That's what I'll tell myself.

But what if they turn out to be six episodes of televisual perfection, imagine the pain 😱😱……………….. it’s Ok, I’ve just slapped myself back  into reality  🥵

I like Parker Posey, but that one looks particularly dumb.

But the teaser didn’t say “6 episodes”; it said “6 stories”, which may mean something completely different.  Each “story” might span multiple episodes.

Does it mean anything if I say I’ve never heard of any of them? Maybe the Atlantic is wider than I’d imagined  🤔

No, I'm not familiar with any of them, and I've only heard of 2 of the shows. If the show is decent, I'll give credit where it's due. If not...

I haven't found the direction to be the issue in the past few season of the main show and the spinoffs. It's the writing.

Comic Con trailer. If any of these stories actually show us the fall of civilization, I'm willing to sit through a lot of stupid. Because in 11 seasons of the mother show and 7 of Fear, they've never missed an opportunity to not show us.

I still haven't watched the last half of Fear but maybe will re-subscribe to see if Tales is worth watching.   I know, fool me once...

It is so freakin' awful. This Tales trailer looks way better, and I'm shocked to be saying that.

Is that supposed to be a young Heath, or someone who found Heath's glasses?

No, you're wrong, sir. No one said that, not even Renny Harlin's mother.

I guarantee the production exec who signed the papers committing his studio to millions in production costs thought it at least ONCE.

(Wonder where he’s working now….)

The last one looks the worst. The Alpha one might be interesting. Might.

I just want to see a really good depiction of the first days of the outbreak, what we were all hoping that Fear would give us. What can they do in a few disjointed forty five minute episodes?

Probably a lot of talking and characters we don't care about.

I’ve got to admit that the Anthony Edwards character is the only one that I’ve any genuine hope of being of any real interest, ‘Elpha’s’ interaction with the Barman, mmmmm not so much, but we live in hope.

Oooh, now I have big plans for Thursday night!

Well do enjoy, I’ve looked and as of yesterday there’s still no information as to how us second class citizens over here can watch it, I’m even willing to pay, not much obviously, but pay I would. It’s no wonder people resort to ‘other means’ to watch, for which AMC wouldn’t receive a penny, unfortunately I don’t have access to a Windows machine so I’m stuffed either way. It’s absolutely ridiculous 🙄, it’s a shame that the publicity and promotions department obviously share the same foresight and interest in the future of the show as do the writers 😭

Do they not have AMC+ across the pond?

The broadcast rights changed from Fox to a very obscure UK channel that hardly anyone had or would pay for, then it ended up under the Disney banner but now who knows, there’s no Info at all. Millions spent on advertising yet people who want to watch the damn show are left searching for rocking horse shit!
