I think they wanted an actress that could vamp it up a bit in order to go in another direction. The blond actress played Mia who had the baby Grace with Chad that Nicole used to switch with Sydney. Nicole had promised her that she would raise the baby but she instead switched her with baby Sydney. The baby eventually died but Nicole was able to get Mia to hold her baby before she died. Nicole was a monster throughout that story, she used a young vulnerable confused teen and dispatched her baby like she was nothing. It showed that Nicole did not want a baby, she just wanted to stick it to Sami and take her baby because she was EJ's daughter. Mia also briefly dated Will when he was still closeted. I thought that Mia and Will had a sweet chemistry and they bonded over Grace. Will named his firstborn daughter in honor of his "sister" Grace. Edited August 13, 2021 by Pearson80 1 Link to comment

Will loved Grace as a his sister for months before she died, so finding out that Sydney was his real sister did not change his feelings for Grace. 2 Link to comment
