Guest July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 Between "Ace Green" dodging all the obstacles, both finalists staying on their horses against Sir Puts-a-Lot (are those shields new, or did they just finally figure out how to use them?), and some damn good putting, this was a great episode. DanaK July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 I almost missed recording this episode because it’s now on earlier and that must have been a late change for my DVR to pick it up automatically but I saw promo of the time switch and was able to set a manual recording. I was tired and falling asleep during the episode, so I’m going to have to watch it back before I comment more Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/120926-s03e06-another-one-bites-the-donut/#findComment-6908391
DanaK July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 Jack’s hole in one was pretty good, plus he won; otherwise it was a mostly nice, fun episode. I did think the joust segments looked pretty lame 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/120926-s03e06-another-one-bites-the-donut/#findComment-6908959
saber5055 July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 I was glad to see the person who made it past the fish used my suggestion from last week, get by one fish at a time. I wish more players would try to figure out how to make it past obstacles instead of them just running blindly and falling in like that's what they expected to do anyway. I agree the jousting was lame this week. Both players were astride the horses and no one really did anything to knock the main jouster off, and the main jouster didn't really do anything to try and knock either player off. The hole in one was so cool though, I was happy Dad won the entire game. And I did LOL more than once at Joe and Rob. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/120926-s03e06-another-one-bites-the-donut/#findComment-6909113
Kiddvideo July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 (edited) They stopped oiling the horses? Which is fine, as long as the contestants going head-to-head have the same level of difficulty. The bookies won’t be happy. 😉 Too bad they paired Jack up against the pro golfer. I’m glad he won, but I would’ve liked to have seen more than just two putts from her. For some reason I was thinking last night about the number of swimming pools they use: Porta-potty, pop corn, and jousting look like they’re played on the same course with different hazards in place. The fish game has the same narrow lane to run across, jusr starting from the other side. I remember reading they film a season’s worth of play on each hole all at once, but they’d still have to fill it once with the sponge corn, again with regular water, and also with sludge. Is there a different pool(s) for the other water hazard games? Is that why they play at night so the crew can spend daylight hours setting up the new holes? So many questions. I remember Rob chuckling over it, and in the shot they showed immediately after that, the horse looked verrrry shiny. Grizzly July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 The difference, which my husband points out to me every damn time, is how the contestants sit on the horse. We've mostly seen people sit side saddle-both legs on same side of horse, which makes it much easier to fall off. There have been a few, like the 2 last night, that have ridden with legs around the horse. The far superior technique. A few players have tried to get by one fish at a time, but they got knocked off by the water cannon. This guy might have had better strength/balance, and I noticed he seemed to press himself against the second fish to avoid the worst of the cannon until he could get past it. I really don’t understand why they keep changing the rules on the seating on the jousting, but I noticed the technique of swatting aside the lance with the shield the players used on this episode wouldn’t work riding side saddle. You’d just get pushed off. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/120926-s03e06-another-one-bites-the-donut/#findComment-6911092
