LEILANI2 April 22, 2021 Share April 22, 2021 (edited) The 90 Day Fiancé universe continues to grow after Discovery+ ordered another spinoff – this time set in the kitchen. The factual giant’s streaming service has ordered 90 Day: Foody Call, which will see couples from the franchise invite viewers into their kitchens and dish on recipes for relationship success, all while preparing traditional meals from their home countries. The series, which will launch May 29, will star the likes of Tania & Syngin, Russ & Pao, David & Annie, Loren & Alexei, Robert & Anny and Sasha & Emily. In addition to cooking up authentic meals, viewers will put them in the hot seat with questions such as “What is the most awkward interaction you’ve had with each of your in-laws” and “What is the most shocking thing you learned about your spouse’s culture?” Edited April 22, 2021 by LEILANI2 Link to comment

Please. And knowing how most of these ladies like have their plumpies on full display I am sure there will plenty of boobage on display, lol!!! 2 Link to comment
TazDevil April 24, 2021 Share April 24, 2021 Really?? Are they just throwing darts at a wall full of words and creating show ideas that way? When have we seen any of these people cook or act like they enjoy cooking except for Annie (of David & Annie)? 5 Link to comment

It was almost like an early Christmas when I saw TLC finally dropped all of the seasons. Luckily for me, the kids love the 90DF crap, too, so a good time was had by all 😂 1 2 Link to comment
LEILANI2 May 29, 2021 Author Share May 29, 2021 Well Discovery+ just put up all the episodes of FOODY CALL this morning. So much to snark about. First we learn from Annie that David has a big dick and eats good pussy, quoting her verbatim. Annie's english is perfect when she talks about sex and then heavily accented about every other subject. Tania looks pregnant or is that just her bad body? Poor Syngin used to be so hot and all his juiciness has been sucked out of him. 1 Link to comment

I feel so cheated, I met Tania last weekend and asked her if she watches 90 Day this season and she said no but never mentioned she was going to be on a new show, I mean I thought we were besties you know, she let me take a selfie with her, does that mean nothing? LOL! I did inquire about Syngin's broken ankles and she told me he was wearing a boot and on the mend, I thought we were close, lol. Tania is not pregnant, it just her low slung boobs in unflattering clothes and lack of a good bra, (brar as Jill Zarin would say). Did Natalie not get cast on a food show? I would think that would have checked all the boxes for her, TV-check, cooking-check, getting paid-check. 3 Link to comment

I think this show was couples only because the participants are supposedly giving relationship advice or some such fuckery whilst preparing meals. (As if any rational human being would ever take relationship advice from the vast majority of these assholes 😂) 2 Link to comment
Persnickety1 May 30, 2021 Share May 30, 2021 So I binge watched this today and found a few recipes I'm going to try (TLC has the recipes on their website). Did I miss something with Loren and Alexei? I know she made a honey lemon glaze for the roast chicken...but I never saw her actually baste the chicken with it or serve it on the side when they carved the chicken. The instructions are on the TLC website but just kind of odd that it showed her preparing the sauce but then not doing anything with it. The recipe sounds really good, though. I love roast chicken so I'll be trying it. I'm also going to try Anny's pastelon and Syngin's chakalaka. I'd love to try the boerewors sausage, too, but since I live in Bumblefuck Mountains, there's not a store anywhere near me that carries it. The program definitely kept me entertained and gave me a few new recipes to try, so thanks TLC! Link to comment

Persnickety1 May 31, 2021 Share May 31, 2021 I made Loren & Alexei's lemon and honey roasted chicken last night. It came out really good. It browns really fast, so next time I will reduce the heat to 350 degrees after the first 15-20 minutes then tent it with foil until the last 10-15 minutes. Next week I'm going to try a couple of the other dishes prepared on the show. Happy Memorial Day, my fellow posters 🥂 2 Link to comment

It does brown really fast and at 375 with 40 minutes left it was really brown. Not burnt, but brown. I will make it again but cook it tented at 350. My kids raved - the chicken was really moist. Loved there was no Shai (sorry!) and my hubs was pointing out that their bedroom was not like on Pillow Talk. If it was their home, not an AirBnB. I watched that portion again and no one was shown basting the chicken. Next time I will remove the skin and baste the chicken not the skin. I watched David and Annie but had to quit after about 10 minutes. Look, I am not a prude but I could not take the constant referrals to eggplants, cucumbers, etc being phallic, her demonstrating what to do with them or her CONSTANT demonstrating what to do with them sexually......then came the soup. Fuk Soup. Okay, I am mot watching "Wolves of Wall Street":, it is a cooking show. She said the name of soup seemingly a hundred times. She was really crude and I don't need to hear about all the fruits of your marriage. I know there was chatter that Annie was a sex worker (or maybe straight up proof) but this, to me, erases all doubt. NO ONE talks about sex THAT much. Alex and Loren did a great job about answering those questions. Even Loren said, "What is with all the questions about our sex life?" Alex answered, "Yeah....we DID make a baby!!" LOL! Alex likes his White Claws and I kinda love him for that. Edited June 1, 2021 by Mrs. Hanson 2 Link to comment

The combination of sweet and salty was on point. I had to actually go look up the recipe on the TLC site because after all the comments about the sauce, they never used it. I gave it one final baste when I removed the foil tent and about another 10 minutes. I made a lemon-and-garlic infused couscous and broccoli to serve with it. I'll definitely make it again. I agree about the David and Annie schtick. It gets old very quickly and I wouldn't prepare anything they made. Not that it didn't look and sound delicious, but too many specialized items I'd never be able to find within a 50-mile radius of where I live. Next up this week, I'm going to make Anny's pastelon. I've never worked with plantains before so I'm looking forward to trying something completely new. I love Robert and Anny together and that outtake at the end of their episode when she had the uncontrollable giggles made me laugh right along with her. I had a similar attack of uncontrollable giggles that earned me a security escort out of the Tiki Room at Disneyland (good times!). 1 Link to comment

My kids are not picky eaters but they were all "Wow this is REALLY good!" The combo of the lemons and garlic was yummy. We kept it simple and made mashed potatoes. It was my first time using kitchen twine! Next I am making the hummus! My hubs does not care for chicken but agreed the kitchen smelled great! I was having casting issues and could not watch Robert and Anny's segment but I will soon enough. I have never cooked with plantains, either! Thank you for agreeing with the David and Annie. My soon to be leaving for DC college grad could have walked out any minute and I was like, yeah no. Even alone, just no. You have sex, we get it. And what was with the viewer question: "Are you guys going to have kids?" Did you not watch the show? The main storyline, other than David's "drinking" was his vasectomy. Edited to add: I want to make the Sofrito from Robert and Anny and the Pastelon. I watched Emily and Sasha and they were fine, not a lot of cursing. I am convinced that all the kitchens are sets or AirBnB as no way no how do ALL the couples have an island with a stove top or a stove top oven on the counter so they can face the cameras. butterbody June 2, 2021 Share June 2, 2021 I noticed that sometimes when they showed the chicken in the oven, it was upside down. I do that with turkey cause it makes all the juices settle into the breast and then you flip it for the last 15 minutes to brown the top. Did they mention cooking it this way and I missed it? I assume it would prevent that over browning. I wonder if Discovery+ encourages that kind of racy talk to entice subscribers. I remember the first thing I watched on it was Julia giving Brandon the handy and I figured it was a way to say "Look at what you won't see on TV!!" Either way, I am not a prude by any means but even I was like, ok Annie take it down a notch. My teen loves her and David and we had our little giggle at Fuk soup but pretty soon I was diving for the remote screaming EARMUFFS! EARMUFFS! 2 Link to comment
Mrs. Hanson June 4, 2021 Share June 4, 2021 (edited) Started to watch Tanya and Singen but they were boring. I watched the first part of Russ and Pao and she is not as grating. I do like her haircut though. She is vegan, fine, and serves Axel eggs and oh by the way she is still breastfeeding him at age two. They had to be on a stage as they live in a camper. All the kitchens look alike: island and a few pictures on the fridge to make it look like it is their home. Reviews have been poor. People are tired of seeing the same recycles couples, too. The nice thing about the recipe is a roasting chicken is not that expensive. 99 cents a pound around here. Not into wasting food but if it burns or goes sideways you are not out a lot of money. I have my grocery list out and I am making the hummus next and Robert's green sauce! 1 Link to comment

Mrs. Hanson June 5, 2021 Share June 5, 2021 I made the Magic Green Sauce from Robert and Anny. DELICIOUS! Threw it all in my Vita Mix and it was yummy. I added an extra clove of garlic as garlic is life. Next time hubby wants to substitute the green pepper with a pablano as he likes pablanos, lol. I poured some over white rice, then dipped leftover chicken (from Loren and Alex!) and again, yummy. Dipped some sweet peppers in it, too. I also saw a video on IG of David and Annie cooking up something from their youtube channel and the kitchen was completely different, One fridge was white (youtube) and Foodie Call was stainless plus completely different kitchens. Persnickety1 June 6, 2021 Share June 6, 2021 (edited) I made the pastelon yesterday and it was pretty labor intensive but delicious. The only thing I would change up next time is to use my hand mixer instead of a potato masher just to give the boiled plantains a smoother consistency. Everyone at Casa Persnickety loved it. ETA: I used ground beef and left out the chicken bouillon cube. Edited June 6, 2021 by Persnickety1 Link to comment
Mrs. Hanson June 7, 2021 Share June 7, 2021 I am going to try Alex and Loren's chicken again and this time in the pressure cooker. It already has a trivet that I can use as a roasting pan and it is going to be at least 80 if not higher for the next two weeks. We can leave the oven off, thanks, lol! And I may up the lemons and tone down the garlic, and I love garlic, but I would prefer the lemon to be stronger and let's face it, garlic is stronger! Poured the magic green sauce into a Mason jar (about 3/4 full) and froze it. Had some on scrambled eggs over the weekend - YUM. Link to comment
