Scotland’s feudal clan system defined the country and still plays a massive part in the modern culture and identity of its people. Sam and Graham set out to discover how they (and their Outlander characters) fit into a system forged through war and peace.

I wish they had focused more on different clans instead of bringing together two different pairs of historical enemies.

I did enjoy seeing tartan being made but it would have been nice to have them talk about some of the different patterns and colors of a few clans, like maybe choose a clan with several different tartan variations and demonstrate different ways of wearing them.

I have really enjoyed this show, but many times I felt like it could have had longer episodes.  I enjoy the banter, but I also enjoy the stories they find along the way, and I felt this episode in particular was too quick with the particulars.

Yes, absolutely.  It was almost confusing because it jumped around so much.

Yes to this.  Graham even mentions that the MacTavish clan had a tartan for all different types of activities.  Sounds fun.  What were they?  Why did they need different patterns?

I also thought there were way too many Outlander call backs in this episode.  I love the show, but I'm not stupid.  I don't need you to provide me with the example and basically humble brag about the research that goes into the show.

I do want to have a dram or 5 with Sara Fraser.  She seemed like a lot of fun and the stories she'd likely tell...it would be a good time.

In this time of trouble and strife I am particularly grateful for any show that makes me laugh, and Sam and Graham consistently make me laugh.   This episode was no exception.  (The wee dram of Laphroaig -- Sam's favorite scotch whiskey -- that I was sipping during the episode may have also had an impact.)

I was a bit confused to hear that the MacDonalds had a beef with the MacLeods because the feud that I was the familiar with was the MacDonalds and the Campbells, which began with the Glencoe Massacre.  Hmmmmm.  Seems like those MacDonalds were just a cranky bunch.  And since I'm a big fan of Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod (of "Highlander" fame), I'm gonna assume the MacDonalds were at fault in both cases.  (I like Burger King better in any case.)

This is a fun show.  I'm glad Sam & Graham agreed to do it.  And I  LOVE that they re-visited the wool-waulking scene from Outlander.  I suspect those may have been some of the same women as they used in the show because I heard that they hired a traditional wool-waulking group -- who were preserving the songs -- to play the women in the episode.

Yes, I am sad that there is only 1 more episode after this one!

I enjoyed this episode. They packed a lot in but still felt pretty relaxed, although of course I wish it had been a longer episode. Still very enjoyable. I too always just heard about the MacDonalds and Campbells. So many enemies! Lol. And yes, I thought the same about Sara Fraser, seemed to be one fun lady and handled the guys very well.
