I ran across this interview that has some additional details on this.  I was particularly interested in the idea that Cody was originally supposed to have a fairly large role.  I wonder why they didn’t use that in the series?  Maybe in a second season, if it ever happens?

Wow, I've been watching several of the Emmy Predictions and a Best Limited Series nod for Obi-Wan Kenobi really wasn't on their radar, but here it is!

In the scene you're referring to, Obi-Wan Kenobi looks at a young Luke Skywalker and may experience some emotional resonance due to his past experiences with Anakin Skywalker, Luke's father. It's natural for Obi-Wan to have flashbacks and feel a sense of concern or even apprehension. However, as you mentioned, we as the audience know how Luke's journey unfolds and that he eventually becomes a hero.

Regarding your question about the purpose of this moment, it's open to interpretation. One possible perspective is that it serves as a reminder of Obi-Wan's past and the potential dangers that come with training a powerful Force-sensitive individual. It adds a layer of depth to Obi-Wan's character and his mindset at that point in the story. I'm huge fan of this character even I saw a post that lightsaber for sale of obi wan. I bought that on time.

I was glad to see this. I've read a couple of complaints from critics questioning why this series was nominated. These same critics don't ask the same question about Yellowjackets, a show that was an absolute train wreck this past season and still got nominated for Best Drama. So I don't take their complaints too seriously.

Of course there needs to be a Star Wars on this list. Set 10 years after what happened in the Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Ben Kenobi (Ewan McGregor reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy) is stuck on Tatooine, watching over a young Luke and searching for the boy's twin sister Leia. There are plenty of Star Wars die-hards who can't stand Episodes I-III, but this follow-up is quite good, notably because we truly get to know Obi-Wan. Meanwhile, his interaction with Anakin Skywalker, now-known as Darth Vader, in the final episode is certainly a series highlight.
